i never wanted to trade Samuels, i thought it was stupid whoever brought that idea up and esp. the # of people who considered it. He is a probowl Tackle, (one bad year with a crappy blocking scheme, nagging little injuries and bad coach) you dont let those types of guys go and not now more than ever.

this question/comment keeps popping up in other threads.... I don't know what the point is but it's time to get passed it. We are not, nor were we ever going to trade Samuels. Move on and let Gibbs/Bugel fix the line - I'm sure they'll do what is best for the team.

I don't think Danny will trade Samuels, unless it turns out to be another Champ situation where it'll be impossible to re-sign him. Besides, keeping or trading a LT has little if any bearing on replacing a fallen RT, so the thread topic is really kinda pointless.

Trading Samuels before was not a great idea and now it is pretty dumb. We need to play to our remaining strengths on our O-Line, which are LT and RG.

Our team is set for this season. It's more important to get the talent we have NOW, to play good football fundamentals, together as a unit; then to keep churning in new players. We've had enough turn-over and players changeouts in the last 5 seasons to last the rest of this decade.

Coach-up this crew. After the season is over, worry about the players and positions we need to fill or fix.

i m sure glad they didnt trade samuels, because he played like he used to, with the talent he has and more. now with jansen seriously injured and randy thomas day to day, hes the leader of that group. i wanna see some joe jacoby magic from bugel on those rookies.

hindsight is always 20/20.

that said, i agree and i never wated to trade samuels. i just didn't see the depth at the position where i'd trust someone to be a full time starting tackle... i hope i was wrong.

Let's make this clear: The Redskins were never going to trade Samuels to begin with. As soon as Buges got the job, he couldn't stop talking about what great talent Samuels has. He wasn't ever going anywhere.

And now? Are you kidding? Maybe for the entire New England defense and Belichick to run it, but that's about the minimum it would take to deal Samuels.
