final roster...tight ends/hbacks
this guy thinks robert royal will make the team. havent heard his name much yet in the preseason...

Most likely, Kozlowski, Sellers and rookie Chris Cooley will see significant playing time during the season. Cooley leads the trio with three catches for 48 yards. Kozlowski has two catches and Sellers one.
Gibbs wouldn't speculate on how many tight ends/H-backs the team would keep.
"I won't get into the numbers because then everybody panics," he said. "We have some idea, but discussing them won't be good."
A guess: The definites will be Sellers, Kozlowski and Cooley as H-backs and Walter Rasby and Robert Royal as tight ends.

The Royal comment really surprised me too. After the Baxter signing, I thought Royal and Stephens were dead in the water.

Yeah, unfortuntely for Baxter, the injury came at the wrong time. He is an excellent blocker and woudl have complimented well with Rasby, but man, you gotta get on the field and be able to play. These gusy that are plagued with injuries are soon going to learn that injuries can cost you yoru job on a Gibbs operated team.

it didnt look pretty when he did it. his knee kind of snapped backwards, like hyper-extended.

i think cooley, kozlowski, and sellars will make it as hback with rasby and baxter as tightends.Does anybody else think that will be seing the hbacks lineing up at end some parts of the game?Like haveing cooley in the back field and having sellars there as a blocker could be a good combination

i wonder if cooley will get any playing time at tight end opposite rasby, since baxter is injured. that would leave the hback duties to sellers and kozlowski. i'm still curious why the writer mentioned robert royal. maybe he'll get some playing time friday night. he seems more like another team's traditional pass catching TE type...rather than a Gibbs blocking TE or hback type.

I would like to keep:
H-Back: Cooley, Kozlowzki and Sellers
TE's: Rasby and Baxter (if healthy)
But I don't know if we can afford 5 roster spots for them.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the would-be reactions of the TEs/H-backs on the team, but I also interpreted this to mean that some fans may panic if Gibbs says we are going to keep a larger number of these players than other teams (and thus limit the number of players at other positions).
