yea i think d mac did move down, but i like thrash now for some reason. he seems like he can be a very good threat. as for rock, if we cut him, do u guys think anyone would take him? i mean, hes to small for fullback, hes too slow for tailback. i kind of want to keep him so he can have a job

I dont see it that way for D-Mac. I think last night they were just trying to get some work in for players that haven't had as much.

I see it as well. He's not showing any kind of burst on the line, and just looks plain sluggish. I don't see the reasoning to keeping him here if he keeps playing like that.

During the pre-game show on the Radio, Bram Weinstein said the Skins FO were going to give the final roster spot to one of the 3 following running backs; Rock, Sultan or Simon. Since Betts didn't clearly "lose" the position last night...and since Rock looked like a "Rook"....and since Simon had ZERO carries, I think the roster is close to set.
Portis
Betts
Sultan
Morton
Anyone anticipate a few cuts on Monday morning...or will they wait another game?

I agree with you... I respect Rock as a FB, but he's not a tailback. He will not make the transition soon enough. I like the RB's as you mentioned: Portis, Betts, Sultan and Morton. Simon on the PS.

I know what you mean, but we can't afford to do that.... Look at it this way, if we cut him, we're giving another guy a job. He'll be fine.... there will always be the CFL or the NFL Europe, if nobody else picks him up. And he probably will make more money than me

If Joe carries 4 backs instead of 3, I think Simon will beat out McCullough. Otherwise, I agree.

Rock showed nothing good. Morton not much more.
They gave some players a chance to play on the first string. A few of those will stay but most will not make the cut.
Did you notice the two players with the same number. How's that for pressure?

I've been a big supporter of his. But, like with Rock, its time for him show the Redskins something for giving him that big arse contract.

I agree that Morton has not been worth the dough he was paid. His entire career was based on poor Buffalo special teams on opening day 2002 when he ran back two kicks. Having said that, his special team abilities make him a lot more valuable than McCollough. I don't see the Sultan on the roster at all. Betts needs to play against Atlanta to give them a reason to keep him. 3 carries vs St Louis before leaving didn't impress me.

I agree. Rock had a good long look with the 1st team OL and failed to impress. I wish McCullough could get the same look with the 1st team so that we could really gauge him.
I'm not really impressed with any of our RBs, save Portis.
- Betts looks better than the rest, just don't touch him... he might break.
- You gotta admire Rock's heart and effort, but he's better suited as a FB. Unfortunately, it won't be here.
- IMO, Simon is the most complete backup, only he's slow.
- McCullough clocks a 4.2 40 but always seems to play much slower than his 40 times. I really would like to see him with the 1st team OL. Maybe this week if he doesn't get cut.
- Morton is the most overrated player we have. He's too small to play RB, even on 3rd down. And he runs another 6 yard hook on 3rd and 8, I'm gonna scream. Furthermore, I'm tired of hearing about how "dangerous" a return man he is. When he's not fair catching, he's turning in 5 yard returns. IMO, we overpaid for him, so he might be a casualty of the Turk

Rock has to kick ass against Atlanta or I don't see how he makes the team. Good thread, DJ.

I think John runs a sub 4.5 in the forty. Not blazing but with his shiftiness, it's enuff. He will help give Portis a breather and can be used as a pass catcher.

Actually, a sub 4.5 for a RB is pretty good. I didn't know that. Thanks! Oh, and welcome to hR!
