Skins Needs
Everybody here has acknowledged our outstanding play of secondary & lbs. Losing Champ doesn't look that bad. I sure as hell would rather have Taylor and Springs than only Bailey. Our linebackers have played well. That will be better especially when we get Lavar back. Our d-line has played above average, especially the tackles. What is our biggest need at this point in the season for next yr? I realize that we still have at least 10 games left, and hopefully more this yr. However, this is a good discussion for a bye week.
1. QB- Never thought I'd say this. But, Brunnel & Ramsey haven't played well at all. Ramsey could be the man of the future, however I do believe that Brunnel will never take us as far as we need to go. We need to find out this season about Ramsey. That is imperative.
2. Offensive Center- This has been really bad this yr. Not just run & pass blocking. But, overall snapping hasn't been stellar, which is very important being that it begins every offense play.
3. Special Teams Returner- This position must be improved. I think our whole play here has been less than average. A stud here would really help our offense. With their play, up to this point, could really use it.
4. Def End- Not a total NEED, considering the overall play of the whole d. However, an upgrade here could take our team to an amazingly dominant defense from a very good one.
HAIL TO THE SKINS!!!!

1) DE - we need a good pass rushing end. We've done well so far, but if we didn't have to send 6 to get pressure, we would lock teams up. We won't be able to stop teams like the Colts or Rams if we have to blitz to get to the QB.
2) I do agree with getting a returner. I hate Chad Morton. I was displeased when we signed him, but was willing to give him a shot. He has done nothing to improve my opinion.
3) I would also look into possibly drafting a 3rd/4th round RB. It seems to me that Ladell is not getting it done if Portis has to carry 36 times. It's one thing if it was Ricky McPothead, or Jamal. I don't want Clinton coming up gimpy because we can't give him a blow (No Jamal, not the blow that caused your suspension).
I'm not ready to rule out Ramsey, so I'm not looking for a QB unless it means getting rid of Brunell.

I think the 2 things that have hurt us the most this year (other than the QB) is the lack of a stud blocking TE and a short yardage back.
You put a Donnie Warren and a George Rogers into the 1st 6 games and we're probably 5-1.

1. I think we need a premier DE this defense would be special if we had that
2.I want a monster guard or center so we can dominate the line of scrimmage on offense
3. I think we need a big pounder back up RB like a goal line type of RB
4.Some O-Line depth the O-Line is so important in Gibbs style of offense and we can't afford any more injuries on the O-Line
Thats about the jist of what I think we can improve on for next year, but I really do think our Skins are going to make a run at the playoffs this year. I have alot of confidence that Gibbs will have this offense primed and ready for our 2nd half of the season. We will find out alot about this team vs Greenbay and I can't wait.

O-Line is inneed of a big boost.
ST coverage (esp on KO and P) is in need of a big boost.
KOR is in need of a boost.

Maybe I'm overly optimistic but I don't think we NEED anything other than time. Sure we could probably use a pass rushing DE (like Kalu) or maybe a return specialists or bigger lineman but I think we need some cohesiveness on the team. I honestly don't think any other team is more talented, top to bottom, than the Redskins are. If the coaching staff will continue to work with our guys and our guys can learn to work together, we should be a really good team by the end of the year. If we keep the same group together next year (coaching staff included), I say watch out Philly! Just look at the Pats and their success. Funny to consider the last coach to beat Belichick was 'Ol Ball Coach! Who knew?!?

Are you suggesting Gibbs back off from the offense? Gibbs IS the offensive coordinator and I trust that he will continue to improve the offense. I sense that the running game is on track and I sense that he'll do whatever is necessary to maximize the potential of the passing game.

We need to bring everyone back, coaches and players. No more massive turnover. Obviously in todays league you wont be able to keep everyone, but a majority of guys would be nice.

An offensive coordinator? I hope you're joking. Gibbs is our offensive coordinator. You can't exactly upgrade that.

Personally, I don't want too many new people. The one thing we've really been lacking in Washington is consistancy. If we could keep this same group of guys, add a couple maybe, we'll be fine. It's early and players are starting to get comfortable with the system. This bye week will be a big help, giving our offense guys and extra week to practice. I look for us to come out and put up 20+ points against Green Bay, and for Brunnel to have a good day (I know a lot of people want him out, but I want to stick it out with him.)

Hopefully, there wont be a huge turnover in the off season. Even if we go 7-9 or 6-10, I think we still just need time to gel. Top priority will be to re-sign Smoot.
First round pick should be spent on either a DE or a WR.

then we won't use Cornelius Griffin and he's doing well this year, plus he cost us a good amount of money so that would just be a waste. If Griffin can't be a nose tackle then its not worth to go out and find one because that area of the team is doing very well. Here's what we need to do....
1)MLB - find out who is going to play, it looks like Barrow says that he wants to play again immediately when he gets healthy (this period of time for his injury is ridiculous, waste of money) but Pierce is doing awesome. He's tied for most tackles on the team with Marcus Washington (the borderline pro bowler) and is doing an excellent job leading our defense. Barrow may have been the leading tackler for the NFC last season but if your replacement is doing well I dunno if he has the right just to kick him out.
2)Blocking TE - Jim Kleinsasser wouldve been awesome here if we had gotten him in the offseason, now he's injured and I hate the Vikings and little bit more now... mainly because they never use him and are pass happy. Rasby got cut because he couldn't even slow down Brown from getting in our backfield but it totally wasn't his fault... a certain lineman that accounts for a huge part of our salary cap is at fault as well, I'll get into that later. Our group of backup TEs isn't getting it done, hopefully we can get Cooley to get better at blocking because I think that he's already a legit threat with his hands. Since Royal is starting next game maybe Gibbs thinks that he can already do that.
3)Fullback - H-Backs are fine if you have bigger Running backs to do it with, but Portis needs a lead blocker to break through the line. We need to adjust our running game so that Portis can have more success in it, everybody knows how good he can be. And maybe the running game at the goal line can improve, we need a lot more points and our goal line running game sucks. I think Sellers or Cartwright could do a good job here.
4) Offensive Linemen - Buges maybe a legendary coach but Dockery is still making mental errors and Samuels couldnt stop Brown yesterday. I'm seeing that league wide big money Tackles like Samuels and Pace are starting to break down. I'm not too sure on how to fix this, it's probably just mental errors but its definitely annoying. I don't think we should draft anything other than a center in the draft. And we shouldnt do that unless we use our 4th round pick.... 2nd is too high unless he's really good.
5)Defensive End - I still say that we should draft one in the draft, but honestly, if our QB situation doesnt lighten up and if a good prospect comes up when we're on the clock, I wouldnt mind drafting a QB. But if not, DE all the way baby. With an explosive DE our defense will dominate and we can drop back our linebackers more often and let them make plays without blitzing.
