UNC has a ton of talent, but they have that look of a team that either:
-disappoints totally
-blows through the regular season and loses badly in the first round to a school like College of Charleston or University of Alabama-Birmingham.

LMAO .............. UNC #1 ..... SI, had to have done that just so they could keep their jinx record in tack. Sorry, Heel fans, you've got a good squad and will be at the big dance BUT THAT #1 ranking is just not going to last AND YOU know it!!!!

Don't even bother watching college basketball, unless of course you are a Syracuse fan. It is a forgone conclusion that Syracuse will win the third straight national championship for the big east. In fact Joe Lunardi of espn has 7 big east schools making the tourny (the most in the country). And if you include the teams that will be added to the big east next year, that total is 11 teams. Best conference in the nation and Syracuse will win another title for the big east.

You maybe right about the BigEast ....but NOT this year. It's going to be the ACC for at least the next two years. And of course, well have to wait until the BigDance to really find out.

Actually they are doing pretty good lately, they picked the Sox to win it all(pretty gutsy pick) and picked UConn to win it all last year. Also of not back in the fall of '81 they picked UNC to win it all and they did.

The ACC is by far the best conf in the Country and in most years will continue to be. Lousiville is a great addition to the BE but Cincy is headed down w/ that shady character Huggins almost done, Marquette has a good team every few years, Depaul hasn't been big time in 20 years and South Florida is a joke.

Just b/c the BE won the last 2 titles doesn't mean the BE was the best conf b/c it was not. The 2 previous years ACC teams won the Nat'l Title and the ACC was not the best but it will be this year and an ACC team(UNC) will be cutting down the nets in St. Louis.

Syracuse had an easy time of knocking out #14 Miss St last night. Looks like Providence will be the one to knock Wake back down to earth next wednesday.

I'm with you on the ACC being the best conference in the country, BUT the Big East will be the power conference before long. They have too many consistantly good programs. And Louisville just makes them that more loaded. I highly doubt that UNC will be the team cutting down the nets, they dont have chemistry, McCants appears not to like his teammates. Talent wins you Conference Titles, but chemistry wins you National titles.

McCants - Jr.
Felton - Jr.
May - Jr.
Williams - Sr.
Manuel - Sr.

This team is loaded with experience, have a great coach and they will face the toughest talent in the country in the ACC. The first three could possibly be considered All 1st Team ACC this year! The title is UNCs to lose...

Look through who has been picked in the preseason as number #1 and see what happened to them afterwards: How many times has Arizona and Kansas been picked #1 and they crash and burn come tournement time. What has Roy Williams done to be considered a "Great" coach? He's never won a Championship, he's been to the title game only a couple of times. He's a very good coach who seems to choke.

I'll take my chances and label Coach Roy Williams a great coach. If winning a championship means being labeled a great coach, that forces me to put Jim Harrick and Jerry Tarkanian on a higher pedastal than Roy Williams and say... John Chaney. I'll take the latter two any day of the week. Championships alone don't define greatness...
The coach puts the players on the floor in a position to win. I can't remember if Coach Williams was ever accused of choking as a coach or if his players didn't perform up to their capabilities. He is a winner nonetheless...that is why Kansas begged him to stay.

The Terrapins will slaughter all opponents and then feed the carcasses to wolves. I require this outcome to help me forget about the VA Tech game last night. Give me what I want and nobody gets hurt.

Yep, I'll just imagine Jackson St. is wearing Hokie uniforms tonight and bask in my glory...

I disrespectfully disagree: Williams always had tons of talent at Kansas but never won. Arizona won one championship , despite having a parade of great players. Both are chokers. I give it about an 85% chance that Roy will choke this season away also.
