I gotta give credit where credit is due....
There is one guy dishing out more free naps than Taylor.....Roy Williams in Dallas is absolutely blasting people into alternate universes..
Now Sean Taylor is right there with him and that speaks volumes for our rookie, but I gotta give Roy the title of knock-out king this year.
Next Year it will be taylor without a doubt

Williams knocks people out but just don't ask him to cover anyone.

Very good point...that is his weakness and why Parcells calls him "Biscuit"
-- Parcells says he is one biscuit away from playing linebacker
Taylor will surpass Williams in the knockout race by next year simply because Taylor can cover more ground and bring more speed to his hits.
(which is scary)
Someone is gonna get sharpied.....I hope it's TO or Me-Shawn in Dallas....

One flaw I see in Roy's game is that he sometimes trusts too much in his hitting and doesn't wrap up the tackles. He is a hitting machine, not a tackling one.

roy also takes bad angles. i hope he doesnt go to the pro bowl this year, cuz he doesnt deserve it, and im saying that without any bias of being a skins fan. there are other free safeties that deserve going to the pro bowl. and if u want one, just look at my sig and avatar

Even if Sean Taylor doesn't get the award, he's been playing a hell of a season. Its hard to see a players ability to read defenses of TV but from what coaches say he's progressing very fast. He is in no doubt one of the hardest hitters to play that possition and he's great to watch on action clips, but I'm sure theres times when I QB isn't even throwing to his side because he's covering someone well too. I'm a strong believer that stats don't tell the whole story about a players talent. Rookie of the year or not this is DEFINITLY a guy I want on our defense! I think he deserves that award but becasue the compitition is tough this year I wont cry a fit if he doesn't get it.

What about the 8 passes knocked down? That tells me he covers pretty well. He took over the fourth quarter last week. TO is dreading this week, I guarentee that.

It's about stats, but it's also about big plays and exposure. I don't know about Vilma, but Taylor's made some spectacular highlight reel plays. I haven't seen Gibral Wilson at all until this thread. My guess is it's between Vilma and Taylor. Seriously, if Taylor made that INT on the last play last week, it would have helped him win it that much more.

Vilma-Dunta Robinson are possibilities.
Taylor is not even a consideration at this point.

Taylor has been beaten a couple of times....
Unlike Roy Williams, Taylor seems to know when to lay the wood to someone and when to go for a pick.
I believe that Taylor is going to be the a true hybrid at the saftey position. He will be a combination of Ronnie Lott and Ed Reed.
I would love to see Taylor become a more of a student of the game like Reed, but his overall preformance this year make his a leading candidate for the DROY award.

I hope you're right. As much as I hate the Crows, I have to say, Reed is the defensive MVP of the league.

I agree with you about Reed...he is outstanding. But Jim is right.
Taylor will revolutionize the position of safety.
