Default Coles on pace for 94 catches

Even with all the offensive struggles we have had, Coles is tied for 4th in the nfl in catches and is on pace for 94 catches and possibly more because we play some bad defenses the next 3 games. of course, the yardage and tds show our struggles, but do u guys think next year he should be our #1 wide out or should we get someone else and move coles to #2?

Coles should be 1, with Williams or Edwards or Clayton at 2.

Yeah, but he's just a posession receiver, right?

A healthy Coles is a definate candidate for a #1 reciever. An unhealty Coles still is our best bet on the current roster. My best case scenerio would be to pick up either Porter as a free agent or Mike Williams in the draft. That would give us two recievers who need to be double teamed, basically a #1a and #1b.

By taking up 4 defenders together, that only leaves 7 for the rest of the offense. At that point you would have Cooley and either McCants/Jacobs in a one on one situation with a nickle back or linebacker leaving only 5 men in the box to defend Portis. By spreading the defense out that much there would always be something open.

I would not consider Coles a posession receiver, he has big play capability if he is healthy. When healthy he probably is the fastest receiver on the Skins, alot of people say Jacobs but I feel Coles is the fastest.

Coles is definitely a number 1 receiver

I said #2, but i view it as 1a and 1b like hockeygoalie said. if he is healthy, we could see the type of coles that we saw the first 3-4 weeks last year. man, he was crazy

coles. anyone who thinks mike williams will come in and dominate right away is probably wrong? how often does that happen? anquan bolden is the only one i remember this second... guys like andre johnson, buress, roy williams, and charles johnson take awhile to get accustomed to the NFL.

coles is our #1 but i dont think there is a defense in the NFL that would waste their time double-teaming him. our passing game is not deep enough and he just isnt good enough to be worth a consistant doubleteam.

you double-team Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson or Marvin Harrison. You don't double Team Laverneus Coles. Thats like saying you need to have a QB spy on Mark Brunell to make sure he doesnt run from the pocket and get 20 yards.

Except for the last game, he really has had a pretty dissapointing game. He has lots of catches, but you never seem to notice them. I bet about 25 of them are wr screens, and 10 more are 6 yard catches on 3rd&15.

Coles is definately our #1 WR and would be on most nfl rosters.
I can't believe ALL this talk about picking up a WR. If we bypass Offensive and Defensive Lines and draft a WR in the 1st round I'll throw up.

Coles will be our #1, he is a true champ we just need another threat out there to take the heat off and open up the field. Coles is a stud but our lack of YAC as a team is very troubling.

The Redskins cannot afford to go out and sign a big-time WR, not two years after giving Coles a $13 million signing bonus. If you want to sign a top WR it'll cost the Skins more than that. Anyone in favor of such a move should explain where the Skins should get that cap room. Which positions [plural] should be slashed to the bone?

We have enough talent at the skill positions but we don't have enough time in the pocket to get the ball to them.

[/begin sarcasm]

Let's draft Mike Williams!!!
