D.J. Strawberry out for the season
http://umterps.collegesports.com/spo...011905aaa.html
Quote:
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland sophomore guard D.J. Strawberry will miss the remainder of the 2004-05 basketball season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), head coach Gary Williams announced Wednesday. Strawberry, who is ranked among the ACC's steals leaders, was injured in practice earlier this week.
"We will miss D.J.'s aggressiveness and experience," said Williams. "D.J. is an outstanding team player. He is willing to do the `little things' that do not always show up on the stat sheet."
Strawberry is scheduled to have surgery on his right knee in early to mid-February. Maryland athletic trainer J.J. Bush indicated that surgery will not commence until swelling in the area subsides. Bush indicated six months of recovery time is normal in such cases.

That is a tough loss and I am also sorry to hear it. MD seemed to play with such an intensity and quickness when he was on the floor. For my money, he is a candidate for most unsung or unappreciated (not by MD fans) players in the ACC.

And the hits just keep on comin'...
DJ is Marylands hustler, he plays D, dives for lose balls, handles the ball...I know Coach Williams loves having him out there.
This hurts!

This hurts the Terps.
Sad day indeed.
But, it didn't hurt the Terps too much, since they beat UVA last night 82-68.

Yeah, tough break for the Terps, but they'll get through it. They played OK last night, but they'll need some people to step up. The defense will certainly feel his loss.

Man, UVA has really nose dived, especially since the beat a top 10 team at the time in Arizona. I'm pretty surprised.
good win for the Terps last night.

Call the wah-bulance for Maryland....
Welcome to the NCAA where every team has injuries. It's called thinning out the herd.
