Bucs Release Brad Johnson and Joe Jurevicius
For the veteran minimun or a little over I would jump on bringing in Jurevicius.

Also Tuesday, the Buccaneers released receiver Joe Jurevicius, cornerback Mario Edwards and linebacker Ian Gold.

I like Joe a lot, but not as a starter. There is just so much going on at WR right now. After our #1 is settled, (either Coles or one of the FAs), the #2 is still up for grabs. If another FA comes in as the #2, we don't need Jurevicius, but if we promote Jacobs, Joe might be good depth if the price is right.

Exacly. I don't want Joe as a starter, but he is high character, big, sure handed. I see him as a 3rd or 4th option and a red zone threat.

Does anyone know if JJ can play on special teams... Specifically coverage units because I think we'll be ok at return man and JJ lacks the speed to do that...

I'd love to have JJ as a third or fourth guy to bring in when we're in the red zone.
We have that already in DMC, but, sadly, he seems headed out the door...

Being as I am almost the only one interested in Jurevicius, I guess most people won't care that he seems likely to return to Tampa. the giants are also interested.

Too bad. I LOVE Jurevicius. He's a Gibbs kind of player all the way, with lots of heart and minimum attitude. I would love to see him in the burgundy and gold.
