According to sources, agent Drew Rosenhaus has held discussions with the Redskins about safety Sean Taylor's desire for a new contract. Taylor fired his previous agents last summer because of displeasure with his rookie contract: a seven-year, $18 million deal, which included a roughly $11 million bonus. With incentives, the contract is worth up to $40 million. But NFL rules prevent a rookie's contract from being reworked for a year. In Taylor's case, nothing can be announced until Aug. 1. Rosenhaus declined to comment. . . .
Here it comes...

When Taylor "holds out" ill believe it. Im not holding my breath though. I seem to recall Courtney Brown being a "lock" for the skins...

I feel the same way skinsfan36 Drew will work something out with the Skins for Taylor, if he can agree to an exstention for Moss then he sure can rework a rookie contract for Sean. no worrie from me.

Didn't it say the NFL doesn't allow the re-working of a rookie contract after one year?

He talked about not liking his contract last year after he signed it. But nothing could be done until 1 year after he signed it. Thats why it is brought up now. I was expecting this as he stated his displeasure early on about it.

Yep, although if the Skins can nip it in the bud, offer him a new and long-term contract that makes him content, I'm all for it.

Rosenhaus is smart, crafty and will get both what they need and much better timing. He enjoys their employ, but knows where the well is and that JG is NOT anything like he's seen in years. JG learned from Bobby Beatherd that sometimes you have to take a loss in the better judgement of getting the bigger gains, quality across the board. Everyone can't always have all the Blue Chip stock.

No remember after he signed his contract to get into camp on time other agents took his deal and made better deals. To me I understand why he feels what he feels. He was the last to get agent and the first to sign I think that's admirable....IMHO
