I voted OTHER, meaning I really don't care what they do with Trent Lott. He was raked over the coals by GOP-ers for not ramming thru all of Bush's right-wing agenda, but now that they've seen the Senate under Frist, they realize they had it better than they thought under Lott. Fact is, Senate Majority Leader is a crappy job. It's tough as hell to push things thru the Senate because of its rules and because it is filled with 100 egomaniacs who all believe THEY should be Majority Leader--or President. That stuff about Lott's racism never got me worked up much. Of course he's a racist. We've known that for years and the national media covered it up. Heck, when Lott made his famous remarks about Thurmond's 1948 campaign the national media was there and virtually none of them saw fit to report it. Liberal bloggers are the ones who picked up the story and spread it around and then some right-wing bloggers followed suit. The national media only reported on it after it had been kicking around the political blogosphere for a couple of weeks.
