That is typical LA....but still better than stepping over them while cursing them out like others do everyday.

Very interesting source...CSM.

Man, this kind of makes me want to be homeless in LA, apperently they build you a state of the art hotel to live at.

I know Republicans like yourself can't stand it when people help the homeless but that is what Jesus Christ was all about. Peculiar that the Christian Science Monitor has a problem with this charity. In respect to Los Angeles, how much is $17 million? Comes out to about $2 per resident-approximately jack squat to you and I makes a better life for thousands of homeless people and their children. Maybe these homeless people are not worth $2 to the upstanding "Christians" at the Monitor, but they are worth that much to me, and they are worth that much to the people of LA, who elect the officials that GIVE to the poor rather than scold them.

You did an OUTSTANDING job of completely missing the point. I mean why help many when you can OVER-help a few?

By over-help I guess that equates to calling them losers while you throw some pennies into their cup as you step over them.

IMO...anyone actually doing something for the homeless is not to be villified. I guess grass huts down town was more appropriate for "those people"

Excellent job by you too to completely miss the point. I guess you all think it makes more sense to give some people more than they need versus feeding and clothing as many as possible. That's what I mean by over-helping. I guess you're insinuating that I don't do anything for the homeless. YOU PEOPLE are funny with your righteousness.

Who are we to judge what is over giving? So you are not being righteous by judging what is too little or too much? Please post a copy of the check you sent to help build that place in LA. Yet you sit here complaining about someone else's good works. Who is being righteous again?

The point you keep missing is that no one who is not homeless can judge what is or is not too much.

I think Dave was suggesting that a more cost-effective method of aiding the homeless could be used.

I know exactly what he is saying but how can any of us who are not homeless judge what is too much/not enough?

Dave you know I LOVE YOU.

I see your point ultra clearly but I disagree whole heartedly. I am not going to judge anyone who is doing good works for the homeless. Maybe doing too much this time makes up for the years of not doing anything or very little?

I posted it because I think it makes more sense to house and feed 100 people than to house, feed, coif, exercise and entertain 40.
