Default LaVar on ESPN's budweiser hot seat

Anyone see this yesterday?

He was given several names and was supposed to respond w/ first thing that came to his mind ... here's what I can remember.

Ali ... "greatest ever"
Bruce Smith ... "greatest ever"
Shotty ... "my guy"
Spurrier ... "my guy"
Synder ... "my guy"
Lewis ... "good luck"

Then he's ask who is the best LB in game right now .... says "Ray Lewis". Says he needs to be more consistent to get to his level.

Good interview I thought.

benjamce, you beat to the punch. I'll go delete my thread.

Yes, it was great. I love the digg he took at M. Lewis. Surprised at what he said about Marty. As I said in my thread, Lavar has the best personality out of anyone I've seen in the hot seat. Most guys seem afraid to have fun.

I like what Lavar said the question: SC: Who can you run down from behind, McNabb or Vick? Lavar gave a hearty laugh and says, "McVick". lol

The question was who would rather have and he said "McVick" then they asked if he could run them down, he said he could run anyone down.

I dont think Lavar ever had a rpoblem with Schotty. It was older vets like Green and Smith that did, because Schotty required the same workout regiment and the same , equal hard work from all players.

Lavar's prsonality is another big reason why we never want to let him go.

It wasn't necessarily the workout regiment. It was him going in and telling Darrell that he didn't know how to play CB. Schott even admited that he did that and appologized for it. You don't go in and try to teach a hall-of-famer-to-be all over again. A good coach would try to improve on him, but Schott wanted him to play his style, not the one Green has played and thrived with.

I missed it too. We may need a thread that we can post up and comings on. That way we can know what to look for especially now that eveything is going to pick up as the season gets closer.

Anyone record it or anything???

i saw it too, great personality. he was also asked about darrell green in the word association segment and he said "pillar". im a huge LA fan and snyder and CO. better lock this guy up within the next year or two cuz i'll be hella mad if he leaves! another question was, keyshawn or TO? lavar said TO, which to me, was the obvious answer. that was a dumb ? IMO.

You were blasted here for stating the obvious? That's disappointing.

Lavar and Schottenheimer were best buds. I remember near the end of the 2001 season when the press asked Marty if Lavar should make the Pro Bowl and he replied 'If they're having one' in a tone that demonstrated his strong connection to #56. Too bad Jimmy Raye was around to not give the O a chance to compete that season. That's neither here nor there at this point though.

I saw it, which is odd because I rarely watch Sportscenter...I had the NBA Draft preview on and that is when I saw that LaVar would be on Sportscenter and of course I had to stay tuned for that.
