Tailgate
Okay folks, we are obviously closing in on the season. I will do this a couple more times beofre the game itself, but if you could please give sort of a roll call of who is still interested in me securing tix for you for the Giants game and the 1st Annual hR Tailgate.

rskinsfan10 -
Here is a quick list of some questions and thoughts I have - it may help.
1. Date: 9/21/2003
2. Location: FedEx Field –
a. Where – parking lot? Area #? Etc.
b. When – Time?
3. Cost:
a. Game tickets
b. Parking
c. Tailgate Party Fee
d. Miscellaneous
4. For the “out of towners” like me suggestions on where to stay if coming in on Saturday?
(If you have already answered these or posted the answers before I apologize - I am not the brightest bulb sometimes)

I'm definitely in. I also need 3 tix as I mentioned before. We're already thinking about which hotel to book for Saturday and Sunday night. Do you guys know if/which area hotels provide shuttles to Fed Ex on gameday?

Im definately in for the Tailgate. Im not sure if I'll need tix or not. I live walkin distance from the stadium, so I may just walk home for the game.
How soon do you need an answer on the Tix issue my friend?

NamVet, very good questions that I'm sure that everyone interested want the answers to, so I will give you those that I have at this time:
Note: this will come in several posts because we have a limit on the number of characters per post, so I don't want anything to be cut off
Where: unless something drastically turns for the worse, the tailgate will occur in the FedExField parking lot. I use the term for the worse because securing a couple of parking passes is usually a done deal for me, but not a 100% guarantee, but I would put the chances at 98%.
Of course, I cannot secure parking passes for everyone that will attend, so this is what I propose. If you are driving to the game, there are two options. The first is to park over at the site of the now demolished Capital Centre/USAir Arena. I believe it was $20 last season. It is about a mile in distance, so if you feel frisky enough you can walk. They do however provide a shuttle bus system. Not sure if another buck or two is required, but be prepared just in case.
The other option, again if you are driving, is to park your car at the designated Metro stations that surround the stadium and catch the shuttle bus from there. This option also works for those that live in the area that have access to the trains and who prefer to park their cars at any of the Metro stations in the DC area. I can do more research as to which Metro stops near the stadium are good for this service.
You guys will be tailgating in a section of the parking lot that will have alot of Marching Band members. I can't at this time remember the exact lot number location as I am usually to hammered to read , but I will have that for you later. I can tell you that it's very near the stadium itself, not one of the lots that are near the outskirts of the stadium grounds.
I think that takes care of your 3b also.

When-Time
I believe that game is a 4PM game. Keep in mind that the band has to report inside the stadium 2hrs prior to kickoff. Stadium policy is that the lots open 4hr before kickoff. Trust me when I tell you that we are usually there minutes after the lots open. The benefits are, getting to park in our favorite spot, no traffic to fight, and more importantly more time to get liquored up before the game . Because h2s and myself would have to leave a little early doesn't mean that the rest of you would have head to your seats at the same time. Having said that though, those that have never been inside FedEx may choose to take that time to head on over and walk around the stadium, or maybe check out the HOF Store to get that Skins gear that you may have on your shopping lists. We will designate someone to make sure that all of our tailgating materials (food, drinks, etc) is secured before game time. Right now, the plan is for the usual (hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages). I can tell you that we blessed to have some great cooks in the band, including my wife, so there is always something else there to feast on also. My wife is of Jamaican descent, so Jerk or Curried chicken shouldn't be a surprise to you if it showed up at the tailgate. That's of course if you enjoy these types of food.
As far as after the game, we are normally the last to leave the stadium grounds. Yes we party that hard. Gameday is an all day affair for us. 1PM games usually have us getting there at 9AM and pulling out around 7PM. 4PM games usually mean us leaving around 9PM. So we will be going as long as you guys want to party.
We have not proposed that any member shell out any money for this, but we do welcome any contribution that may be sent to cover costs. It will allow us to offer more to everyone participating. Everyone will enjoy the same regardless. You will be amazed at the genorosity that is extended from my colleagues in the band.

Game Tix
This is the most stressful part of putting this together. It is up to the individual seller to set his or price, but I will have those that are selling to come up with an agreed upon price that they all can live with, as the different people involved are aware of my need for these tix. I can say with some certainty that you can expect to pay between $40-60 per ticket.
Hotels In the immediate area of the stadium, there are these hotels/motels:
Doubletree
Hampton Inn
Extended Stay America (not sure if this place requires you to stay for at least a week. I believe they are geared towards accomodating more then avg. stay times, but I can check if anyone is interested)
Days Inn
Motel6
A little futher up the road from the stadium in Greenbelt is a Holiday Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and the Greenbelt Marriott. I bring attention to the Greenbelt Marriott because if it serves in the same capacity as the past, it is the hotel that the team reports to the day before the game. I don't know how security handles those that may try to seek autographs or pics with the players, but if you want to give this hotel a shot do so. I believe that the Greenbelt hotels are a little pricier compared to the first list, but don't hold me to that. You may want to call and inquire about shuttle services to the games from these hotels. I can say that I am not aware of any, but I have never stayed at any on the day of a game so I truly don't know.
On a side note, I know for a fact the Rat Boy's board (CPND) and I believe that ExtremeSkins board are planning tailgates for that same game. You may want to make your reservations quickly if you need a hotel room.

The timing for the game sucks. I'm commited to the Austin City Limits Festival that weekend. 3 Days, 150 bands in an 80 acre park. Serious fun!
I will be flying in for a game this year. Maybe I can Jones the Funky 4 for some tailgate food after the game???
