Well if Brunell is the starter I'm more the sure he'll put his faith in him for the rest of the season.

I feel horrible for Patrick Ramsey. He deserves a lot better than this, if for no other reason than human beings shouldn't be lied to and then spit in the face.
I disagree with you here. If I'm a coach I want whoever gives me the best chance to win playing at every position on the field. Obviously, Gibbs does not think Ram gives him the best chance to win.
This isn't about feelings this is all about performance.
Gibbs never lied to Ram. He told him he would start the season but, as camp evolved it was clear Gibbs wasn't happy w/ Pat's progress. He did what he said he'd do and gave Ramsey his chance under fire in week 1 and Ramsey failed.
The NFL is about as competitive as it gets and if you're not performing up to par you ride the bench or get sent packing. It's that simple.

Ramsey lost his starting job this season fair in square in my eyes. I went into this season with the same anger and borderline hatred for Brunell after his year last season that many on this board shared.. I came in really really hoping Ramsey had improved during the offseason workouts, which had the best attendance in redskins history.

Ramsey sucked this preseason. Plain and simple. He didn't earn the starting job. I still ike Ramsey, he's a great guy, and I do wish him success, but put him in against Dallas, and it's a recipie for disaster. I'll take a veteran that holds onto the ball and can win the field position game over a young guy that makes a ton of turnovers. I can see why Gibbs has made his decision.

Gibbs stuck with Ramsey for the second half of 2004 and named him the starter for 2005 before last season was even finished. He then gave Ramsey first team reps though all the mini caps, the OTAs and throughout the preseason. Them, true to his owrd, Ramsey started the 2005 season. Gibbs didn't lie to Ramsey. He gave him every chance to reaffirm Gibbs' faith in him. With zero pressure on him, he failed to do so. That's not Gibbs' fault; that's Ramsey's fault.

Ramsey just asked to be traded, Mort just reported it on ESPN.

I think Gibbs integrity and honesty prevented him from doing this. He promised the job to Patrick. So, he followed through on his promise.

Who would be the potential suitors? Miami perhaps? Cleveland or are they trying for the Matt Leinart sweepstakes?

Ramsey and his agent both talked to Gibbs today asking for a trade, Mort also reported about a trade they requested some time ago and Gibbs said no, we'll have to see if they will trade him this time around. Might as well, he isn't playing in DC.

I think Miami has to be happy with Gus Frerotte. I think maybe Ramsey could go to the Jets to back up Chad Pennington.

He would fit well in St. Louis. They like guys who can throw it far, and Martz doesn't really care about INTs.

Or maybe NYJ, where he can back up Pennington.

Any place he goes, he isn't going to start this season. I don't know why he wouldn't wait till later on.

Unbelievable!
I don't think Gibbs can afford to have Campbell as his #2 QB right now.
It will be interesting to see how Gibbs handles this situation. I can't see how
we could possibly let Ramsey go.
