If Brunell beats the Cowboys on Monday every single one of us will be in his corner and Ramsey will be an after thought. We have a ball control offense we cant control the ball dealing with Ramsey's turnovers. While i dont like the way Ramsey is getting pulled hes not the best QB for a ball control offense. Just look at his first three possesions int, fumble, fumble that is no good for a ball control offense. Were going to win games on the ground and with defense. If Brunnels arm is back as it looked in preseason and his decision making is definetly better than Ramseys then hes definetly the best option at Qb. Gibbs knew what he was doing when he drafted Campbell he's the QB of the future.

Gibbs thinks Brunell won't lose games. He figures with our D and rushing attack the QB can manage us to victories. He's scared to death that Ramsey will single handedly cost us games.
Ramsey is still our backup. I don't see how they can let him go now. Didn't they refuse a trade request from Ramsey last year?
Brunell may not lose games, but it's hard to imagine he'll win many, either. The main difference, other than age, between Ram and MB is about 30-40 yards in arm strength. If I'm an opposing defense playing against Ram, I know that, even though the pass may be off the mark some, there is definitely a threat to go VERY deep, because the guy's got a cannon. Thus, I'm going to have to play a few guys off the line, and play the passing game a little more honestly.

If MB plays, that deep threat is gone, and now, as a defense, I'll take my chances playing 8 or 9 in the box to stop Portis because I'm not sold on MB throwing the bomb. That's what killed us last year: there was no deep threat, so everyone played us to run... and we lost 10 games that way.

Brunell just better find a way to complete those deep passes before Monday night or we are d-e-a-d.

That's nuts.

Someone else said that Gibbs purposely set Ramsey up to fail. That's nuts too.

Someone said that Ramsey should just not show up anymore. That's nuts too. If he doesn't show and sulks, ship him out of here like we did Schroeder under similiar circumstances.

Someone said poor Patrick is owed this by the Redskins. That's nuts. This is professional football. If you do not produce, you sit, quarterback or no quarterback. No one here can argue Ramsey has produced.

This is professional football. We have had a professional sideshow the last few years pre Gibbs. We hired Gibbs to turn this around. It seems most of you prefer to go back to the professional sideshow by everything you are saying. Brunell has played better than Ramsey. Gibbs has confidence in him. He deserves to start.

Spurrier knows college QB's. He made a mockery of our team with his ex-Gators.

Where is the towel? Somebody find the towel!! We have to find the towel so we can throw it in on the season!!! The sky is falling the sky is falling....

I cannot believe some of you are out on a ledge ready to jump. We all saw in the preseason that Ramsey has not progressed as he should have. We all knew in the back of our minds that this could happen.

I trust Gibbs no matter what the decesion is and I really hate to see "supposed" fans call him an "old man" and "stubborn" Please!!!! How many games have you started or coached in the NFL???? Come down off the ledge and support this team.......

I'm not saying he's owed anything. If you want to talk about sideshows, how about all this turnover from season to season that's still happening under Gibbs, he's talked about continuity for so long and I believe him more so than anyone we've had in the past but c'mon...all we've had is more turnover, not much has changed to me. I know the salary cap is a big problem for the team but we're still shuffling QB's like we did today. If Gibbs had reservations he should have made the change some time ago, not going into 1 of the most important games of the year for the team. Just stick with Brunell if that's what he wants, I don't have faith in him but I don't have to, I just gotta hope he gets the job done. Let Gibbs have his confidence in him, I just hope it works out for the best. I just have to wonder where this confidence is coming from. What makes Brunell such a safe pick as our QB, someone please tell me b/c I don't know.

We owe Ramsey? Maybe he owes me money for tickets purchased over the last three years, but that's about it.

You owe him your support when he is playing on your team. Must I again point out that you given up all rights to any opinon in this matter when you cheered in the game day thread when ramsey got hurt.

Anybody who cheers when one of our guys gets hurt is a trader and should be banned from this site. We don't need fans like that.

As much as I wanted to see Ram in last year, its awkward to say that Brunell has looked better in every appearance this season to date.

The problem is, Gibbs cashes in all his highly valued "straight shooter" chips on this move. I dont think its worth making yourself a liar to start a guy that just gave you 3 field goals against the worst team in the NFL and a 9-7 win.

Sadly the team I've cheered for 20 years has reached such a point of disorganization Its painful to watch. Its like seeing a trainwreck in slow motion. You have to look, but you dont feel good about it.

Gibbs is still every bit a "straight shooter" today as he ever will be. He could have said that he wanted to keep Ramsey out due to the "injury" if he didn't want to shoot from the gut. Now I am as dissapointed with this decision more than any he has ever made as a coach, but I'll be rooting just as hard on Monday Night as ever. Ramsey will bounce back..........whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. He will get stronger and better from all this......maybe not on our team.........but he will be a solid starting qb with somebody some year.
