Article on the 12th man at Fedex!
I looked around and didnt see this article posted. I was kinda suprised i didnt because as i read it, it was giving me chills just thinking about it. All the quotes from the players and such about the fans.
12th MAN
Quote:
"It was the 12th man in action," said wide receiver Santana Moss, one of the Redskins' newcomers. "I'm just blessed to be a part of it. It was great. We're trying to get back to a winning tradition. These people were just great." On a day kicked off by Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey and a special 9/11 commemoration, Redskins fans should have been given a game ball.
"All those false starts? Our crowd was impressive," said defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin, who came up big in the clutch versus the Bears for the second year running. "It was beautiful. When you hear your home crowd behind you like that, it makes you want to go out there and make plays."

Lets not jump the gun... The 12th man came alive in the fourth quarter BIG TIME, but they were poor at best before that. RFK used to rock like that BEFORE the opposing team was even out of the locker room. Washington fans showed 5% of what they used to be, but hopefully they continue to build on it. I know in the game I am attending, I will leave barely being able to walk every game. I am angry that we don't do a better job, but I will always remember the game on Sunday as one of my fondest sports memories.

In the thread I started about the 12th man I said the exact same thing this Casey Husband guy is saying. In fedex history, I think the Lions wild card game and the Bears game were by far the most intense.

It was awseom when it happened cause I was sitting all the way about three rows from the top and I didn't think it was all that loud, then the Bears got one false start after another. I was sitting there thinking whole crap, we are really getting to them. My only problem was that it was opening day, I expected a lot of skins fans there. If this team is at about .500 when the Eagles come to town and the place rocks that like, that is what we need.

"Along with the situation surrounding fans in New Orleans, Redskins fans have to rank as one of the league's top Week 1 stories."

This is what I'm talking about folks!!!
The Fedex reclamation project is starting to take notice. We are turning this
thing around. And we WILL return to being the greatest home field advantage in
the world.

IF/WHEN we beat Dallas, Seattle should be doomed.

maybe the crowd was just trying to even things out after they booed in the beginning of the game.

you can't hear well up there, but the farther down you go, the sound gets exponentially louder.

I have sat pretty much everywhere in the stadium at one time or another, and do agree that the sound is def. louder in the lower level. What kind of irks me is that the fans along the upper level don't seem to get as exicted or into the game as the lower level sections (at least in my experiences).
I just got tickets this year, and am sitting on the top row of the upper level, 50 yd line. I can only wonder how much more affect on the crowd noise would be, if the entire upper level acted like the bunches downstairs.

Once we are winning games, people will be louder and more involved. My guess is that as the year goes on, and the games get more and more important for us, FedEx, in turn, will get louder and louder. Let's make this year the year that re-establishes our home field as one of the most difficult places to play in!!

I'm hoping this Bears game awoke the sleeping giant. We the crowd got a taste of blood and we want more.

I wish there was a way to get the audio from that game. Hear the announcers shouting and whatnot......
