I still say if we show an intermediate passing game, 20-25 yard crossing routes, out patterns, that draw the LB's away from the LOS and allow Portis room to cut back, we will be a much more potent and feared offense.

It wasn't a 42 point comeback. I think we ended up with 40 some points, but we were 'only' down by 21 in the 4th I think. It was in 1990 and Jeff Rutledge led the comeback.

The final score was 41-38 and we won in OT after being down by 21, I'm pretty sure. Rutledge's heroic's were short-lived though, because the following week was the "Bodybag" game.

Mayham is onto something here. The players are starting to really follow Gibbs' lead. They are united on the field and in the media. Anyone who actually knows Joe Gibbs says one thing, and all these idiot doubters haters like pastabelly say something else. Like they don't have access to history or NFL films. Gibbs built a foundation last year and it's even better this year. The dirtbags, the new smurfs, the GW defense-only a complete butthead would say Joe Gibbs is taking this team in the wrong direction. THIS IS THE SECOND COMING OF GIBBS! THE BANDWAGON IS BACK!

I think you're onto something here RM!
Did anyone else get that feeling that after the improbable comeback there was NO WAY we were gonna lose this one? Even after Dallas took that kick back to midfield there was just that sense that we couldn't lose this game. It was as if we had divine intervention.
Now, I'm not saying we're there yet. I was actually just as shocked by our lack of scoring the first 3 quarters as I was about the improbable scores in the last few minutes. Our O is nowhere near where I thought it would be at this point.
Although, to be 2 and 0 with ALL the mistakes, the bad breaks and poor play calling shows just what type of team we have. To go down to Dallas on the road and play poorly for most of the game yet pull out a win proves to me that we are on the verge of great things. Just imagine when our 0 starts firing on all cylinders and our D starts causing some turnovers.
We will be unstoppable!!!

I have to admit that I had little faith in the Skins going into the bottom half of the fourth quarter. In fact, I bet that wasn't an uncommon feeling, even among more than a few members of the team. But it didn't end like those of little faith like me thought it would, now did it? In fact, the finish of the game was something we haven't seen around here in quite some time. While the jury is still out, the deliberations are positive for a change!! The Skins can build on this one for sure, and you can bet yer arse that Gibbs will work that angle. The trick is getting every member of the team on the same page of intangibles -- and that will turn this thing around. I would have to agree that this game showed we're closer now than ever before.

Next up: breaking the 20 point barrier!

Default Confidence!

Look, we all know we do have talent on the team. But, after being programmed by negativity for so many years now, it takes a spark like this to rejuvinate the winning spirit! A little confidence can go a long way. Now that we have had a taste of down field success, I think you will see the ball thrown deeper more often, more accurately and earlier. This will definately help both the passing and the running game.

It only takes 1 match to start a fire and I think Brunnell finally lit one...

I can't wait to see how we look against Seattle. I think they are over rated and I think we have a chance to win that game big!

Hail!!!

I think that win is huge for the future of our season because a lot of games will be determined by less then 2 scores. So if we can put up points when it matters, never quit, and keep fighting I think we can win a lot more close ones that people had us losing earlier this season.
Can I get an A M E N and an HTTR?

so does clinton portis. i heard him say, "i guess this means no more 8 men in the box!" after he jumped in on santana moss' post game interview, lol. if we can score two TDS that quick at the end of a game when the other teams knows we have to pass, why cant we do it throughtout the entire game? if we do things right, this win could be a springboard to bigger and better things in the future.

Default Hey don't forget that San Diego game in 1986

when they were down 21-0 at half, or the Cincy game in 1985 when they were down about 20-0 at half, or the 1982 Philly game, in which they came back from a 14 pt deficit

Gibbs knows how to make adjustments and take advantage of weaknesses; Parcels does too, but not as well.
