"It is impossible to gauge the use of these so-called designer steroids. But their discovery shows how professional athletes, including Major League Baseball and National Football League players and Olympic athletes subject to regular, mandatory drug tests, continue to have at their disposal performance-enhancing products that are not detectable."
The drug companies are taking advantage of our justice system in that they know an outright ban on performance enhancing steroids would not stand up in court because the Government can only ban specific substances it knows about, and not future undiscovered drugs. Therefor, as long as the drug companies stay one step ahead of the game, they can create new kinds of steroids for the next 100 years and the FED will never keep up. Apparently, it's much easier to chemically manipulate steroids than most people know.
The fact that a known illegal drug dealer made himself rich and got a pathetic 4 months in jail only enboldens the drug companies. Of course, they are also protected by a loophole in law that allows them to call themselves dietary suppliment companies, thus side-stepping all drug regulations.
