Default Americas summit protest turns violent

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/americ...mit/index.html

Quote:
MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina (CNN) -- Protesters set one building on fire Friday and threw objects at police in the streets of this resort city as the leaders of 34 nations began the fourth Summit of the Americas.

He is a very hated man in these parts.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with moving your oil company into a small South American territory and purchasing that land from a wealthy family and then forcing the natives to move to ghettos in the city and then ruin their land and drinking water permanently and have 70% of the $$$ from their natural resources go to the pockets of American oil men and the other 30% into the pockets of one family after you've tricked their government into allowing you to do so by cooking the books with ridiculously optimistic economic forcasts.

In my many travels outside of the U.S. and during my time living and working in Mexico, it occurred to me that a great many folks were and are keenly aware of the tremendous downside of the current globalist path the West is on, and what they're losing as a result. Such, IMO, is the source for the great anger we're seeing here (and which also manifested itself during the Clinton years, to be fair).

Now, if only more folks here at home had a solid grasp of what's really going on in the world...
