I don't get why Oakland is the obvious choice for TO. Why would a team waste so much money on him when they already have a good WR core and a ton of other needs. If they did make a move like that I would laugh.

3) TO is going to want to sign with someone who plays the Eagles regularly
4) Gibbs has taken on head cases before so I don't know if its that far fetched that he would take a gamble on him
With that all said I don't think TO will be a redskin. I think the logical destination for him is Atlanta where his hometown is and his former coach Jim Mora is.

Gibbs is doing the hiring now. I would be extremely surprised to see Dan Snyder intercede in this matter like he did after becoming the owner. That pretty much was a total disaster.
I also believe that this whole circus was ochestrated by TO is to get out of playing with the Eagles; so he can go to Atlanta and Micheal Vick.
The Redskins DO need a replacement for Jacobs - he's been totally invisible, but will go for a veteran WR. No way Gibbs takes on the TO madness....

Anyone who thinks T.O. has a prayer of playing for the Skins is NUTSO! This makes me laugh. You think Gibbs would honestly want a moron like that on the team? He already said in the offseason that he had no interest in Randy Moss when he was available. How much moreso would he NOT be interested in a freak like Owens, who makes Moss look like Art Monk when it comes to a class comparison?
What a joke that media dolts are even bringing this up. Still hanging onto that Snyder stereotype that hasn't been valid for the last few years.

He'd be great, if you could find a stapler big enough to shut his big mouth.

Agreed. Nice post. Gibbs is righting the ship like he promised, you really think he would bring a cancer in to destroy it all?

I'm going out on a limb but I'm saying TO is not in the NFL next year. I'm not denying that one or more teams are crazy enough to want him for a year, but the guy has made all this fuss because he wants a serious paycheck, and no team next year will give him that much cash. Throw in the fact that the guy has been open about the fact that he really doesn't even like football, and I say he sits out and makes money somewhere else.
I see a Michael Westbrook-esque cage match in his future.

Yeah but whit while Westbrook showed flashes he was general not the best producer and hurt all the time. As much as it hurts to say it TO is legit. If you look on pft right now they are citing multiple suitors i haven't thought of. Broncos, Miami and of course the skins. Someone will pick him up. If not in the offseason, after a star receiver gets hurt at the beginning of the year. It will be interesting, maybe dallas will pick him up and then we can make fun of their team imploding because of it in a couple years.

No I agree with you on that, he will have suitors, but I am wondering if TO thinks it's worth it at all to go to another team and play for peanuts compared to what he wants dollar wise when he doesn't even like football very much. Everyone is saying the best he will get is a 1 year rent-a-contract, so I'm just a little skeptical that he'll even have the desire to play for a fraction of his worth when his heart is not really in football.
This is just me speculating of course, I definitely won't be surprised if he lands on another team next year, out of 32 teams there will certainly be a handful that would take the risk on him.

I would love TO to be a skin. Gibbs doesn't get too personal with players. He just lets them be. I think that TO has strong character and tells things the way he sees them... That is the competitor in him.. Why is everyone dogging him because of the media hype that was made from his comments.. If you listen to the interview he didn't say anything bad. He basically said that a hurt QB isn't better than a healthy one. We proved that last year with brunell and PR.. Society is like a bunch of sheep anymore.. willing to buy into anything..
