Crazy for trying... Crazy for crying... Crazy for loving you
What Redskins game left you the most heartbroken? It was so cool to read some of your rituals on Sundays. I noticed many said that when the Skins lose, it takes several days to recover.
I'm the same way. Nothing pisses me off worse than going through the pain of a Redskins loss.
So I wonder... what game left you in pieces.
Mine would be a recent one when the Redskins lost to the Bucs in the playoffs by some ridiculous score... 14-13 like four years ago. That game left scars.

Off the top of my head:
1) Super Bowl XVIII - 38-9 loss to the Raiders. I thought that team was invincible. Could have had a back to back. Devastating.
2) Opening day vs. Dallas in 1999. All our DB's have leg cramps and the Rocket goes for 85 yards and the score to win 41-35 in OT.
3) Up 20-0 vs. Philly at RFK after the 1st quarter, circa 1989ish. Gerald Riggs goes for like 251 yds, but fumbles and we lose.
4) That MNF debacle in 2001 between 0-4 Wash and Dallas where SD fumbles while running down the clock and they kick a FG on the closing drive. (That game outrated the Yankees playoff game that same night even though the teams were a joke at the time)
5) Bodybag game in Philly in 1990 (although this was avenged in the playoffs at the Vet that year).

Super Bowl XVIII - 38-9 loss to the Raiders. Know doubt about it...I still hate Maruc Allen because of it.

I remember the Rocket game... Man that sucked watching him take it to the house. I also remember the Riggs game. The bodybag game was on my b-day, Nov. 12. Those were some great answers that reminded me of my pain, too.

The Joe Theismann leg crunch game...
In 1989 when the stinking Cowboys went 1-15 and the 1 was a win over the Redskins...
The last game from Gibbs, the last game from Monk and the last game from Darrell...~sniff~
And of course the Superbowl loss to the Raiders

That game still hurts me whenever I think about it. I remember at the beginning of the 4th quarter, my buddy was saying that its over. I told him to not go there. I remember all too many games where the girls have come back to beat us.
And when it actually happened, it was devistating. The feeling I got in my stomach when he was running down the field will forever be etched in my stomach.

In 91 when we were undeated and the cowgirls beat us... that stung
the "cramps" game... that was the worst feeling ever. I didn't move for hours...

I was very heart broken for the last game at RFK as well. Even though we pounded the cowboys......
I really miss the old place. Everytime I watch the United play there It takes me back.....

im pretty young so my list is pretty limited. hailyeah mentioned most of the games i was ever truly heartbroken over.

...i need to put the playoff game against the bucs in 99 #1 though. i was in denial after that one.

The cramps game was heartbreaking...
This past season had a few heartbreakers as well.
Especially the game on Thanksgiving Day, when the Skins gave up a game THEY SHOULD HAVE WON to the Cowboys on national TV. Ohhhhhh the horror.

Can't remember the specifics, but a long time ago the game when we were beating the 'Boys, knocked Staubach out of the game, and their backup led a great comeback (can't believe I can't remember that bastard's name).

Skinzaholic, don't go into a state of depression. TC opens Sunday! The Washpost & Washtimes will be full of articles. This board will gesculate, postulate, and girate, and require fumigate(ing). In a couple of weeks we play something called pre-season. Then, in just a few short weeks after that, we do the real thing every week! This is the best time of year!
