New hogs and new posse
Guys as we get closer to camp I can't help but think this is the best o-line the skins have had since their last super bowl and the best receiving group since that time as well. I'm sure we all remember the hogs and the posse. Nobody in the NFL took the o-line that seriously until Bugel formed his hogs. And nobody before the posse had three receivers go over a thousand yards each. Now, both seem the par any more. Anyway, back to my original statement. I think this will be an exciting year and bring back a lot of memories of Joe Gibbs and all those victories.

We do look good on paper but we've read that story before. If the chemisty is anything as good as I'm reading, then we should do very well.

I hope you are right but I have learned not to get too excited with this team.

Our WR corp is definitely something to get excited about. if Taylor pans out We will have the best trio in the league
Even if Taylor is a bust I think Coles and Gardner are the #2 combo after Ward and Burress in Pittsburgh.

About the chemistry.......you have to remember one thing. Just about all of our players, except the three drafted players, have been on the team since February or March. That gives the guys plenty of time to get aquainted with each other. Its not like we signed them after the June 1st cuts.
I don't see team chemistry as a problem...just my opinion.

Our WR corps isn't exactly the best in the league, but it comes close. The best duos and best trios are usually on the same teams. Burress and Ward, Porter and Rice, Bruce and Holt, Horn and Stallworth, Robinson and Jackson, and, of course, Coles and Gardner are the premier tandems. Throw in Randel El, Brown, Edwards, Pathon, and hopefully Jacobs, and there are the best trios.
Our O-line needs to be as strong as advertized this season. As we all know, Ramsey's in the mold of Drew Bledsoe, Peyton Manning, and Kurt Warner with almost zero mobility but a howitzer arm. He needs time in the pocket so that gifted recieving group can be thrown to accurately and often.

Once I see it shown on the field thats when I will start getting excited. I am tired of us looking good on paper and crap on the field. I have a good feeling about this year though.

Same old same old question arises. Good line, good Wrs, but can Ramsey get them the ball consistently. Has Ram learned this offense enough? Some here bash analysts for question Ramsey, but I do as well. Ram is one of my fav players on the team, but in theNFL, you must PROVE worth! he has his chance and until he does, he will be considered the question mark.

I still think the biggest question marks are the interior of the defensive line and the tailback spot. We aren't use to good QB play, but the other two areas could be glaring weaknesses.

I'm also not ready to call our new WR core the new posse. That was a special, special group that delivered in the clutch when the bright lights were on.

Quarterback and defensive line are the two biggest issues, I think. If Ramsey plays well and the D-Line gets some pressure on the quarterback [Upshaw, Smith] while keeping us in the top 20 in rush defense, the team should make the playoffs. If not, there are going to be a lot of angry people on this board.

i think if dockery can start and the O line stays healthy, this can definitely be a top 5 group, but we will see. and if coles is everything he is supposed to be in his first year, if jacobs can be more than just another florida gator WR, if mccants, russell and johnson can make impacts ON THE FIELD, then we can start to make comparisons but until then, i aint sayin a thing.

True, we aren't used to good QB play and that is precisely why we have spent the last so many years watching other franchises int he playoffs and watching either Philly or New Tork win the East.
Our weaknesses I see is QB, UNTIL PROVEN, and I mean UNTIL. He could erase that as a worry. Interior DLine will hurt us at some point. And, I am very wary of our punt returning.

Good point CarMike. I guess what I mean by chemistry is that players are aware of their duties as well as their teamate's duties. Like the offensive line. Each one of those hogs new what they were supposed to do and what the other guys were supposed to do. That kind of bonding is what I'd like to see. I know the hogs had several years to get that going though.
