Does anyone really think that Keino and the other distinguished posters up here who are otherwise knowledgeable about football and the goings on in Redskin Nation are such blind homers that they only see one side of an issue? I assure you, that is not the case at all.
Tell you what, I'll the research for you about Sally. Anyone who thinks that Sally Jenkins is anything other than a Redskin-hating, self-serving carpet bagger with a bad weave, please bookmark this page for future reference. I know, technically she doesn't even live in DC, which means she isn't a full carpet bagger. Just a carpet... well, nevermind.
Below is a list of the football articles that Sally has written since the start of the season. Why don't we see how they stack up, mkay?
-----------------------------
Coughlin's Successful Formula (12/22/2005) -- Gint sycophant piece the week before the big game. This qualified as giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Colts Are Riding Out a Perfect Storm (12/17/2005) -- Fluff piece on the Colts. Like there wasn't enough media attention give to the Colts during their 13-0 run, Sally gave us another article about it. Well, at least she wasn't lambasting the Redskins or fawning over the Gints.
Those Burgundy-Colored Glasses May Need Cleaning (11/30/2005) -- Rips the Redskins at their lowest point. Note the three week long gap between this piece and the Gint puff piece that just happens to coincide with the 3-0 Redskin turnaround.
A Yearn To Watch Eli Learn (11/22/2005) -- A piece specifically designed to S Eli's D. It wouldn't be so bad if she wrote it for the Village Voice, not the Washington Post.
Giants Show Togetherness (10/31/2005) -- Another Gints piece. Noticing a pattern here?
For Pierce, Rough Estimate (10/27/2005) -- She must've been orgasmic while typing this one. She got the chance to write about a Gint while taking a swipe at the Redskins by implying that they did Antonio Pierce wrong.
One-Handed Clap (10/22/2005) -- Ripping the Redskins after the loss to the Chiefs. At least she wrote about the right team this time.
A Bitter, Cold Dose Of Reality (10/10/2005) -- A piece after the loss to the Broncos. In this little gem, Sally gleefully makes her first appearance of the season after being conspicuously absent during the 3-0 start to the season.

It is in the week leading up to the game. She's the Hanoi Jane of the Redskins.

Call the Washington Post sports department to voice your disapproval of Sally Jenkins biased columns and shoddy reporting at (202) 334-7350.
Keep in mind that you will get to speak to an actual person, not a machine.
I just did, i spoke my piece, and i hung up.

Can I use cool euphemisms like "S Eli's D" when I complain?

Excellent Research BnG. perfect perfect perfect. Notice nothing in there after our 3-0 start? nor after the bashing of the Cowboys or 49ers.
Mustang Sally has to go.

Good stuff, BNG. She's gone when we have win streaks, yet appears when we struggle.

I just wrote an email to Mr. Tony imploring him to continue his bashing of Sally. The main point here is WHY does the Post think I would have any interest whatsoever in reading a piece about Tom Coughlin. That logic simply escapes me. Sally lives in NY...apparently prefers writing about NY...she needs to be printed in NY...
Get this crap out of my D.C. paper.

Kudos to you Sean. You state in a good, professional manner, what many of us would like to states in an unporfessional, insulting manner.

I 100% agree with you Keino. I couldn't believe when I went to read the Post that she wrote an article on the Giants for a Washington newspaper who's team is in the thick of a playoff race and could steal the division with some luck.
I have never been one to complain about sports writers, as I take most of them with a grain of salt. When Tony K starts talking about NY occasionally, or when Wilbon goes on a Chicago rant, I never really care. They don't devote an entire article to their respective favorite teams and cities. This is the second time in less than a month that Ms Jenkins as written a factually unstable article. I can't believe she gets a check from the Post. I could write an article like her, where's my publications?

Although I whole-heartdly believe that a sport columnist is suppose to write on what they feel or believe, Sally Jenkins is that one exception based on her resume of columns so far this year. I don't get upset when people don't pick the skins to win or if they bash them in an article. But with her you need to factor in that she offers nothing of value to the Washington D.C. area. She writes pieces about teams that aren't in this area, and if it is about a team in this area, it is either a sport nobody cares about (sorry, but DC area women's college basketball is on nobodies radar) or it is to criticize (see all redskins articles). I accept and enjoy the fact that not everybody argees with me or writes what I want to read. But please give credit where credit is due. And credit is not due to Eli backcoming a great qb, b/c nobody hear gives an S.

I revised my letter, since I sent it to the wrong e-mail address. Here is the latest version:
Dear Sports Editor:
I must say, that I am extremely disappointed by one of your featured Sports columnists. For one, she has no connection to the City of Washington, other than her father being a former columnist for the Post. She lives in NY City and it shows. She never turns down an opportunity to write a scathing column highlighting what she perceives as ineptitude from the Washington Redskins and their front office and owner. Just 3 weeks ago, I read a November 30 Column by Jenkins in which she cited that the Redskins were "5-6 against the fifth-weakest schedule in the league". Don't you think there is a moral obligation on the part of your sports columnists to be factually correct if facts are used to support their opinion? The NFL says that the Redskins have one of the tougher schedules (Opponents combined record of 98-84 to date) in the league, using the only stat that matters in sports, wins and losses. This includes games against four of the eight teams that currently lead their respective divisions.
Now keep in mind, I've never felt compelled to write and complain before, that is until today. The Redskins are in the midst of serious winning streak having just dismantled the most hated rival with the playoffs on the line and have moved from that 5-6 record she seemed to gleefully remind your readers about to 8-6 and sitting in control of their playoff destiny. So what do we get on December 22, two days before the biggest game ever to played at Fed-Ex Field? A Fluff Piece on the virtues of Tom Friggin Coughlin which true to her form is full of factual inaccuracies. The notion that Tom Coughlin always produces winners is as false as a 13 Dollar Bill. I mean really, the guy has a lifetime record of 78 wins and 74 losses. That would be four games above .500, which in my world is synonymous with mediocrity. Joe Gibbs has a lifetime record of 146 wins to 75 losses. Joe Gibbs has won Superbowls, Coughlin has won nothing. Today's column should've been devoted to Gibbs, who has a much better track record of producing winners than does Coughlin and should have partially recanted her "Burgundy and Gold Glasses" column of November 30. That would've at least created the illusion of objectivity.
This is not the NY Post, which frankly speaking, seems to be the perfect paper for a hack columnist of Jenkins' caliber. Perhaps, if Jenkins would like to extol the virtues of her hometown teams (New York) she should do it for a New York newspaper. You may be under the impression that her columns are generating positive results for your newspaper, but I can assure you that the people have grown quite tired of Jenkins and her not so hidden agenda.
