Champ Bailey contract talks
Just wondering what's the latest on the Champ Bailey contract negotiations...
The agents for Charles Woodson made their preliminary contract proposal to the Raiders which included a $16M signing bonus, and the Raiders rejected the proposal on Monday
... just curious to see where Bailey's demands are... can't say I'm too surprised about Woodson asking for that kind of $$$

All I have heard was that he wanted top be paid like the top CB in the league, nothing specific.

There have been no talks at all from either side.
But the same thing happened with Jansen.
I am not at all worried yet.

All I know is that if Champ is let go, I'm going to feel sick every time I see us play without him and everytime I see him playing without us. Give the man the money he has earned, rather than frustrating your best player and building rifts between him and the FO.

I think they are waiting for the Woodson deal to get done so they can offer him a similar contract to be honest. Let the raiders do the work for them.

Hmmmm, i hope the thoughts and feelings we got a few months ago from inside that Bailey is too unaffordable are not becoming reality.

I can't see Bailey taking less money than Charles Woodson.

I think this whole mess with Big Daddy has Champ's contract written on it.

Without a doubt, Bailey's and/or Arrington's. Without getting rid of the "highest paid" Redskin soon, the Team's chemistry will suffer from Champ's ending contract and Lavar's painful contract. I think the FO wants to do something with Champ and Lavar, but getting rid of Wilkenson's deal first will give them options.

They really need to rework BD's contract to have a bit more room to fiddle with LaVar's and Champ's. I also don't think that Champ would take less than Woodson.

thats one of the reasons the redskins need to do well this season and i mean at least make the playoffs. if the team is heading in the right direction, i think champ would be more willing to stay here and see where the team can go. he has been what, 4 or 5 years and has been to the playoffs once.

Well, Big daddy is gone, let's see if the hope happens and that the $$ freed up will be used for extension. Get the DAMN TALKS rolling!
