He was Superman tonight, but credit also goes to the Texas defense for stopping USC on two 4th downs tonight and bottling up Reggie Bush outside of one long run.

Great game, two great teams. Lots of players I'll be looking forward to seeing in the NFL.

It depends on what you're looking for in a QB. If you want someone polished who's ready to step in right away then Leinhart is the guy. Young has the potential to be the better QB, but as we were talking about here http://hailredskins.com/vbforum/show...t=31776&page=2, he'd be better off sitting for a year or two, not getting thrown to the wolves, and learning how to be a pro QB. So if you're the Texans, you're not even close to winning so why not sign a place holder, sit Young, teach him, and then you'll have something special in a few years.

Young needs to be taken #1. Like Michael Jordan when he had the ball in the clutch I knew his team was going to score. He proved an unbelievable QB is better than an unbelievable RB (Bush) everyday of the week because they have the ball on everyplay. Vick may be faster but Young is Special in the clutch. 30/40=75% passing, 200+ rushing over 250+ passing.Total of 478 yards. Never seen Vick do that. He is the truth

I thought I heard them say that Vince Young told some people he was going to stay at Texas...

If he can play at the high level he did, I could seriously see Texas taking him if he leaves school. He would be perfect for a team that can't protect its QB. He'll be able to escape more when Carr couldn't.

This is kind of a funny situation. Before the game all the talk is that VY isn't ready as a passer and he's leaning towards staying another year. Right now I'd wager he leaves and enters the NFL.

I wonder if this performance could be a bit of a double edged sword. Perhaps it pushes him into the NFL before he really is ready. I think Jason Campbell is a lot more polished pro product and will be the superior pro.

Great discussino going on at ES: http://www.extremeskins.com/forums/s...7&page=3&pp=15

i highly recommend reading this thread, it talks about the pro's and con's of VY, and why, in many opinions, he has a long way to go before he's ready for the professionals.

Depends on the team really. New Orleans or the Jets could use Leinart, while a team like the Titans can afford to select Young.

If Young comes out then the texans should think seriously about trading David Carr to SF 49ers along with the #1 pick and get the #2 pick the SF 2nd rounder this year and the first rounder next year.

That way Bush goest to SF and Young goes to Houston. Great move marketing and otherwise.

The Niners just drafted Alex Smith. No way SF trades for Carr.

I agree .......... but NOT because I think VY is the best option for making this club into a winner. It's simply about putting fans into the seats - which they have a real problem of doing right now.

If SF is smart, they find someone on the cheap as I do not thionk Smith will have a very successful career in the NFL.

Young is still a LONG way from being an NFL qb. He's a great runner, but Vick was a better runner in college and he's getting the snot beaten out of him now when he does run. Young also plays exclusively in the shotgun, unless he shows he can run a real offense; he's going to be Michael Vick meets Patrick Ramsey writ large. And Vick didn't deserve to go to the pro bowl this past season. If Young wants to show he's an elite prospect, play next year at U-T and don't run at all. Run a pro style offense and be a pocket passer. He won't last in the NFL trying to run it 15-20 times a game.
