First of all, thanks BNG for shooting me that link via PM.

This is not a thread intending to further the pissing match that was going on earlier. The sole intent of this thread only to offer my opinion on the subject. I didn't want to do that without reading the transcripts of what was said and wasn't afforded that opportunitity prior to thread closure.

I had no problems at all with Carter's comments. I felt that they were made in the spirit of honoring what both the husband and wife stood for. I find it hilarious that people are in a tissy over the comments. They weren't even pointed comments IMO.

No problem. I think the topic has been discussed to death over the past 3 days or so, so I'm done with it. As it turns out, Spence kinda hit it right on the first page of the other thread. People have different perspectives about what's acceptable politically at a funeral and during a eulogy.
