Olberman is in O'reilly's head
I saw this report on Media Mattes and it is too good to pass up. Apparently Bill O'Reilly hung up on a caller for saying Keith Olberman's name and threatened to have Fox security call local authorities.
Here is the exchange as reported by Media Matters:
Quote:
O'REILLY: Orlando, Florida, Mike, go.
CALLER: Hey Bill, I appreciate you taking my call.
O'REILLY: Sure.
CALLER: I like to listen to you during the day, I think Keith Olbermann's show --
O'REILLY: There ya go, Mike is -- he's a gone guy. You know, we have his -- we have your phone numbers, by the way. So, if you're listening, Mike, we have your phone number, and we're going to turn it over to Fox security, and you'll be getting a little visit.
HILL: Maybe Mike is from the mothership.
O'REILLY: No, Maybe Mike is going to get into big trouble, because we're not going to play around. When you call us, ladies and gentleman, just so you know, we do have your phone number, and if you say anything untoward, obscene, or anything like that, Fox security then will contact your local authorities, and you will be held accountable. Fair?
HILL: That's fair.
O'REILLY: So, just -- all you guys who do this kind of a thing, you know, I know some shock jocks. Whatever. You will be held accountable. Believe it.

Now I know some of you hate Media Matters but they have the Audio clip there as well and I listened to it twice and it is verbatim. Apparently O'Reilly was on a rant about MSNBC's ratings because Olberman said was one of the worst people in the world.
I love when people get in O'Reilly's face because he can't handle it. He is a bully and like all bullies does not react well to a good, if metaphorical, punch in the nose.

Yeah.... Oberman had this on his show last week.
He has been on O'Reilly's case and that of Fox News for a long time.
He merely points out their hypocrisy and wrongdoing.
By the same regard,he acknowledges that he used to work at Fox and that O'Reilly has about 300,000+ viewers to his 200,000+,but there is about a 7 year disparity in the length of their shows ,in which to draw an audience.
This is a good fued.

Another Irony is that Bill O'reilly now has a petition to bring back Phil Donahue who was run off the air for his anit-war stance, despite being a ratings winner. I am sure many at fox including O'Reilly were happy when Phil was let go and now they are calling for him to come back because they are mad at Obermann.
I don't watch either O'reilly or Obermann, but I may start watching Obermann if I can.

Olberman's show is good. He's funny and he's smart. The whole "bring back Phil" stuff from O'Reilly is in response to Olberman gaining in popularity. It's really funny to watch Olberman rip O'Reilly because Bill flat out can't take it. That clip is proof.

Olberman is kind of like MSNBC's version of the Daily Show.
He has some serious stuff with a witty bend.
Unlike some others,he's always cordial and polite.
FYI,he follows Hardball @8 and I think @ midnight.

I listen to him every day on Dan Patrick and love his sports stuff....maybe I will TiVo him. And Dave you are right, Bill just can't take it at all. His reactions to Al Franken has flat out made Al Franken's political career. Rush handles criticism better the O'Reilly.....
But then again he is deaf and hoppped up on oxy-cotin.

What in the world is Fox security going to do to some caller? Advise him that there has got to be a better way to spend his time than calling Bill O'Reilly? Hell, I'll send the guy an e-mail and save Fox security the trouble.

Who's harassing who?
O'Reilly is accusing some callers of harassing him and his show, all the while Fox Security calls them back and threatens the callers.

The best part of Olbermann's show is when he's doing some stupid entertainment story or some story that just mindless, you can hear the boredom in Olbermann's voice.

This O'Reilly Olberman feud is going pretty great. If you missed last night's Countdown here is a complete breakdown of the feud:
It started with Olberman naming Bill O'Reilly the Worst peson in the world on his Countdown show two nights in a row. Once for his attacking of his own fox news person and once for his flip flop on Iraq.
Check out the clip here on O'Reilly's favorite news site Media matters http://mediamatters.org/items/200602240005
Well O'Reilly then started a petition to replace Olberman with Phil Donahue http://mediamatters.org/items/200602240008
Olberman responded to Bill (who btw these two go up against each other in the 8 pm time slot). Check it out ...HILLARIOUS http://mediamatters.org/items/200602270007
O'reilly then threatened a caller on his radio show who thought Olberman does a good job by having "Fox Security" come after him. http://mediamatters.org/items/200603030010
Olberman last night had that caller in an interview and apparently he actually got a call from Fox news as well http://mediamatters.org/items/200603060009
Keith Olbermann is my new personal hero. I love anyone who punches Bill O'reilly in the knows.

Even hopped up on dope, Rush has a much better sense of humor than O'Reilly. As far as I can tell, O'Reilly has no sense of humor at all, especially about himself. That's what separates Rush from the likes of O'Reilly and Hannity. Rush can make his audience laugh and they'll always love him more for it. He's sort of a weird combination of George Carlin and a Grand Wizard of the KKK. The rest of these Rush-clones are pale imitations.

My favorite line from Obermann's piece last night was this
Quote:
|
OLBERMANN: One last thing. We all know Mr. O'Reilly cannot stop himself from responding. Fail in this business for 25 uninterrupted years, then have a success, and you do wind up a mixture of paranoia and a Napoleonic complex.
|
OUCH!!!!!

I always liked Olbermann on Sportscenter and the Dan Patrick show. Well I guess he got another regular viewer in me (I had never seen his countdown show until the last couple of weeks).

I think it is becuase RUsh honestly does not know what an idiot he is, so he does not care, he "knows he's right". so who cares what other people say?
O'Reilly knows he's spewing a bunch of BS and is always in danger of being exposed.
