Look at the difference between Dubai in 1991 and Dubai in 2005. That is just amazing.

That is neat. Thats devoloping faster than Loudoun County (thats where Im from) and that is fast considering it is one of the fastest growing counties in the US. I bet a lot of people are making good money over there.

Oil. Do a websearch on hotels in Dubai...absolutely some of the most extravagent things you will ever see. It's a shame though that the Middle Eastern oil economies have their priorities all screwed up. They invest in extravagence instead of infrastructure.

It helps that the top photo has been tinted orange. Still unbelievable, though. I saw a photo somewhere of the Prince's Palace, and it's absolutely jaw-dropping.

I'm almost certain that second picture is a concept drawing but Dubai is growing. I was last there is '99 so I didn't see the ski resort yet but it looks awesome, Discovery Channel did a show on it.

Do a search on how they are building out into the water... now that's cool.

"Dubai islands" will probably result in some returns.

Yeah, they're building these odd-looking peninsulas that jut out on to the water like long fingers. Creates more waterfront property and a place to stick the people.

Not worrying too much about pedophilia will also help them attract international celebrities.

They're building one of those up by me, at the Meadowlands.
