I hope we still sign Goodwin. We need two quality backups along the interior line and two more at tackle (at least in my view).
By the way, here are his stats:
Mike Pucillo, OG, Washington Redskins

# 61 Mike Pucillo
Position: G
Height: 6-4
Weight: 311
Born: 07/14/1979

That's all I know about him. Any body now anything? I guess he's depth only, 18 career starts.

I think Goodwin was asking for too much and also he probably wanted to start.

Guard/Center tweener. He filled in for Faine for a few games at Center. The book on him from Scout.com is that he's an intelligent lineman who lacks brute strength.

Draft: 2002 - 7th round (4th pick) by the Buffalo Bills
Here's his draft notes from 2002:
ANALYSIS
Positives: Intelligent lineman who compensates for a lack of an athletic physique with sound technical skills … Has effective linear speed … Shows good hand placement and takes excellent blocking angles with surprising quickness, despite his frame … Dominates defenders with his lateral agility, showing suddenness to reach and zone … Knows how to sink his hips to maintain balance … Shows good explosion coming off the snap … Makes blocks based on very good use of his hands … Takes advantage of leverage to make up for a lack of brute strength … Can pull and connect on the move, using his techniques to defeat and control opponents.
Negatives: Needs to dedicate himself more in the weight room … Very weak in the lower-body region … Has a tendency to put his head down, which causes him to lose balance … Struggles in pass protection when he stands too upright and must remember to keep his hips down low to be effective in this area … Marginal, at best, as an incline blocker … Has good awareness on the field, but this gets lost in his lack of lower-body strength, as a strong power surge can send him back on his heels.
CAREER NOTES
Versatile lineman with experience at both guard and tackle … Came into his own as a senior, establishing himself as one of the best drive blockers in the Southeast … Started 25 consecutive games for the Tigers.

Sounds like if we can get him in the weight room, he's decent depth.

Depth, depth, depth...
Some teams lose seasons because someone on the OL goes down with an injury, and they have no one that can step in and recover.

I think we still need one more hybrid lineman for real solid depth. This guy is a solid backup it seems, but we need to avoid the "Cory Raymer situation" that happened during the Seattle game.

I like the fact that he can play center and guard.

Good news..as long as he is cheap (I think so), young (yes), and as good as Ray Brown (hope so) then it's fine with me..the more o-lineman we get the better...

I am glad to see this kind of signing, a young backup under the tutelage of Buges, should be a good signing.
Now I guess Buges is going to have 3 projects: Dock, Molinaro, and now this dude.
One more backup and we should be good to go on depth.
