That was an awesome game. Patterson deserved to get the win-that was a damn shame but the outcome was awesome. Anyone else think John Patterson is now the unquestionable ace of this team? His stuff was nasty last night!
I was glad to see our fans staying until the bitter end.

was it in Atlanta? If it was RFK that matches the total HR total form last year...

It was in ol' D.C., alright.
Maybe if he likes it here, we can get him to stay? I mean, he gives us some great offense and he seems to have shut up about the whole second-base thing... for now.

Great game for Alfonso, but enjoy the moment because Sorriano is one of the streakiest, most unpredictable players I've ever seen. He'll go 2 for 30 in one week, then come back with a 3 HR, 7 RBI game the next night, then be right back going 0 for 15.

Reminds me of a linebacker I used to know.

he's streaky because he is a very aggressive batter - he'll swing on 3-2 nearly all the time, doesn't like getting walked...

I hope the Nats can work something out to keep him in DC past this season.
He'd be a great player to build around.

Honestly, I'd still rather they move him for some decent players. This team needs a few budding stars over one current unpredictable one. I just can't see him choosing to stay when he will receive equal deals to play for a contender.

Which is why he has no business in the lead off spot. He has no patience at the plate, and swings an aggressive bat. A leadoff batter has to enjoy getting on base more than padding their Batting average. He also has to work the pitchers deep into the count. Soriano rarely gets to a 3-2 count.
