If I was a Packer fan, I wouldn't be happy.

John Madden is the only person who is happy.

I don't think it ever had anything to do with being contenders. Favre just wants to get his attention in the offseason. They could go 1-15 next season and he'll pull the exact same junk next offseason.

They will be 7-9 at best. They did nothing to get better and will be an extra win or two since their offense was blown up by injuries. Atleast it gives Rodgers another year to mature and develop.

Favre is ranked high in most passing categories and if he continues his trend from the last few years he will be at the top of one of them, the most career interceptions thrown. Brett is at 255, the record is 277 by George Blanda.

They'll have a decent shot to make the playoffs. There division stinks, the bears aren't that dominant and no other team is really clear cut above the rest of the division. I think if Farve was in a division like the NFC East or AFC North with clear cut dominant teams at the top he would have retired. The Packers will have Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, and Javon Walker all back added to whomever they pick up in the draft. They should be improved based solely on that.

He's certainly earned the right to do whatever he likes, and if playing another year suits his fancy, then good for him. I just hope the Pack can assemble a better team around him this year.

I like Bret and I think the Packers have a shot i that weak division. But I don't care for it when players hang around too long... even some of my all time favorites.

I'm glad he's coming back, he's one of the few non-Redskin players in the league who can get me to watch a game just to see him play. I wouldn't be suprised at all if the packers make the playoffs.
