How do you guys think that 2 new DTs will fit into our roster? Could the first one really be moved to OT?

I'll wait for the press conference tomorrow. I was determined to watch every pick of this draft but I'll Tivo it till I can take some Prozac.
I just want the reasoning behind the picks, which won't come until later. Surely a corner or guard would have made a little sense...
I'm not saying there wasn't good reason to go with these guys -- I just don't for the life of me have any idea what that is. I plan to follow what happens to this year's draft class very closely next season, and if it all washes I'll just never doubt again. Simple as that.
But for now -- pain...

Anthony Montgomery is the 2-gapper that will occupy blocks, Golston is the 1-gapper that will try to penetrate.

I'm guessing Coach chose these players because they are not set in their positions and could be moved around. Personally, I don't see any real glaring needs except for punter, and if we did have a need, we certainly are not going to fill them in the 6th and 7th round. We are able to move these guys along the line, both offense and defense apparently, and they can fill in on special teams.

If we see them both on the field this year at the same time, the opposing RB could break the all-time rushing record...what I meant was that we seam to have 7-8 defensive lineman already..

Montgomery will be used as an offensive line rag doll. and golston will be a tackling dumbie just in case jerome bettis comes out of retirement and we see the steelers in the super bowl

So let me ask you this. Given that you don't see glaring need now, wouldn't you much rather have the picks in future years when we do have holes to fill? Just curious.

GIL BRANDT'S ANALYSIS
Minnesota's coaches thought he would be the second player picked from their team. He really impressed folks at the Combine. He worked out very well at his Pro Day. He is the type of short, quick defensive tackle who is doing well now in NFL.

"Against Wisconsin, Iowa, and Ohio State, Anthony Montgomery compiled 3 solo tackles, 4 assists, 2 tackles for loss, 2 disrupted runs, 10 QB pressures, 1 QB sack, 1 forced bad pass, 1 forced bad decision, 1 pass deflection and 1 fumble recovery. Montgomery faced offenses at the point of attack 9 times, allowing 14 yards and giving up 1.5 yards per carry."

Thanks for that tremendous article on Montgomery. This sheds some light on why our scouts may just have the majority of "in the know" folks licked:
Anthony Montgomery is getting a raw deal.

Peter Shumate takes a look at a more unheralded defensive tackle who deserves some respect.
Ever since watching Montgomery plague the Alabama offensive line in last year's Music City Bowl, the Minnesota defensive tackle has piqued my interest. Yet, despite playing well this season as he did in last year's final hurrah, Montgomery was ignored by the Senior Bowl, the Combine, internet draftniks, Scouts Inc, and Mel Kiper Jr. It was as though he did not exist. Frustrated and convinced of his ability, I engaged in an extensive tape review of what Minnesota tape I possessed...
