Gregory Hines died from cancer on Saturday at age 57

I enjoyed his tap dancing!

he was in cannon ball run????

I was surprised to hear he was 57. Not to mention I had no idea he was sick.

I personally thought his best movie was that movie with Billy Crystal where they were cops (name is illuding me right now)

Apparently (or so I was told today by a co-worker), Hines felt it best to not divulge his illness to alot of people that were close to him, let alone the public. He didn't want pity or for his family to be down about his pending death.

The sign of a good man.

I always heard he was a great guy, and not a selfish person, so that's not surprising.

I would however keep my family informed so they can go through a grieving process. (forgot to mention that in the previous thread)

My greatest Hines moment was his role in History of the World Part I with Mel Brooks, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman and Sid Caesar. A pure classic...and Hines played an awsome comedic part.
