A "little hard" on Bugel? Perhaps. But to quote one of Gibbs favorite expressons, "past success doesn't buy you anything, maybe just the confidence that you can do something".

I would say Buges has been the most disappointing of all the coaches who came aboard for JG II. Despite a lot of talent on the starting Oline, it is not yet a dominant force (as Tandler correctly pointed out). And, Buges has not developed in two years+ a single backup who clearly can play.

Yup, past success means nothing, but Buges had the benefit of better scouting (Beathard vs now), and Grimm was a steal in the 3rd while May was a solid 1st rounder. Jacoby of course was hidden gem, but what is Buges getting now and how much input is he having in the guys we are getting. We need to get some quality guys in before I'll gripe too much about him. The team has invested most of its resources in other areas, and I don't think we can blame that all on old Buges just yet.

We have a very good line. I don't know what line this guy has been watching but I saw a very good line last year. Our running back broke the franchise record for rushing yards. Our QB was sacked 31 times...not 51. They got tired deep in the playoffs and they played their hearts out. Also, you don't lose Randy Thomas and Rabach and think it's going to be the same line...you've lost 40% of your line. Hail!!
