What do we do?
If Jason does not work out.
I have been reading good things and bad things. So what do we do if he does not work out.Brunell is not getting any younger.Really if he dont get his chance this year he will next year.So how many years do we give him.

We chill. If everything goes according to plan this year, he will see very limited action, if any. Next year, in all likelihood, he'll get his first real taste of NFL experience.
And then we have ourselves a young, inexperienced quarterback. Growing pains, yada yada yada, we hope for the best and we don't panic when he makes mistakes. We won't know too much about Campbell's future for at least 2-3 years so no reason to worry yet.
This is the guy Gibbs wanted so that's reason enough for me to just sit back and see how he develops.

Jeez, the guy is learning a new offense for the sixth time in six years and he's in his second training camp practice and we're already overreacting about what happens if he doesn't work out?
The reviews on his first two days haven't even been bad, he's mixing in some good and some not so good, the guy hasn't even taken an NFL snap yet, there's no reason to get seriously worked up either way.
As Insomnia noted, once this guy takes over as our starter he's going to have some growing pains. NFL quarterbacks don't just become superstars overnight, even Tom Brady and Big Ben had their flaws masked by teams that were extremely talented and well coached in their first seasons.
Give this guy a legit chance to do it on the field first, he's working his tail off to master the offense and become our QB of the future. He's a quarterback, not every play he makes will be great, but he deserves at least some real game time exposure before we start freaking out about him.

I agree no need to get worked up over nothing. Campbell is in a very good sichuation. Very well coached.

I say if he's not ready to start at the break of camp that we trade him to the Jets for Ramsey.

We also need Coles back cause him and Ramsey had good chemistry. Coles for Santana Moss straight up again.

There is no way I consider that deal unless the Jets throw in a sixth round pick.
I think the question some people will ask this season will be, "Should we start Campbell now?" Not that I don't have faith in Brunell... I just think the offense will struggle a little in the early going and we all know how Redskins fans are about a backup QB.

My over/under on the first thread asking when we start Campbell is halftime of the Monday night opener.

First of all, don't create threads with titles in all cap letters. Second, give the man time. How long have we been in camp? How long have the players been off? Geez.

First the kid has to be given a chance (and couple at that) to show what then have invested in. We won't know if he not going to work out of at least couple of seasons. AND Gibbs always makes sure he has a veteran QB on the roster - the MAN always has a plan. (One of the reason he is so sucessful in NASCAR)
AT this point - NOT even a concern!

It's day 3 of training camp....Day 3.
Jeez, can we at least wait until we see some preseason games before the "OMG! What are we going to do?!? We're doomed!" threads start? Not that the pessimistic will be treated any different then but at least everyone will have seen the players play and not be making assumptions based on other peoples accounts.

how many years did Steve Young wait behind Joe Montana? or Joe Theisman behind Kilmer and Sonny? i say let him wait as long as possible, or as long as necessary.

Well obviously we panic, storm Ashburn, and burn down Fed Ex....
Or we realize that we have Mark Brunell for this year and maybe even next year, Jason Campbell will come along just nicely and Al Saunders will have as much time as needed to make him the GUY.
We chill
