I just posted this week's VQ article on the War Cry Blog. You can read it by clicking the link below and make comments in this thread:

Vision Quest: A weekend to remember

I did a little different take then my usual flair as last weekend was very special for me and my wife, but as always there are the 5 things we Know Now and a brief look ahead to the Giants game.

Awesome write up Dustin. Keep 'em coming. One of these days, i'll have to get up there for a tailgate or 2. Incredible story about the fox though.

Great writeup Dustin. Agree with all your points wholeheartedly. Man I would love to make it to a HR tailgate sometime.

I agree..actually I think it was the best one so far, and it described pretty accurately how I imagine my trip to FedEx will one day be (hopefully)..I'm happy you had an awesome weekend, Dustin, and once again, great job on the excellent article!

1. "we are definitely planning on the hR tailgate for next year already"

which game were being discussed as possibilities?

2. The Pass Coverage will get better with Springs back, but it will miss Prioleau all season long

I agree fully. P2 and S2 are two big losses, I am willing to bet that when they were evaluating whether to keep Ryan Clark that it was decided that P2 > RC in pass coverage and A2 > RC in run stuffing ability. Unfortunately with the loss of P2 the pass coverage is suffering. No argument from me.

Definitely one of your best works, Dustin! I enjoy reading things on a personal level and as good a time as I had, I can really feel what a great experience this past weekend was for you. I'm glad I got to be a part of it on Sunday.

It was good to see you and your finer half again. You know where to find us, if you want to make another trip down here this year.

thanks again Dustin. I really enjoyed the personal experience sharing of you and your wife along the Mall immensly. My wife and I were there last year on the 4th. Awesome, even though I am from there, I had actually never been downtown on the 4th. The one spot we didnt' go was the Reflecting Pool, it was 10 deep crowded!!!!

That Jax game was very refreshing. I agree on your points and am also a bit disappointed in Frost, after backing him so much. Not sure how he goes from top 5 NFL! punting to lame duck of the week???

Very good write-up Dustin! I don't think I said this yet, but it was a pleasure meeting you at the tailgate for the first time. I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to talk more, but I was in rare form (if you know what I mean). I look forward to meeting you again sooner or later, hopefully sooner!

I'll start by saying how nice it was to see you and the missus again!
Your reflection of this past weekend, while your wife was asleep, brought a smile to my face. You experienced something that some folks take for granted.

For those who don't live in the area and have been contemplating on whether to make the trek to FedEx for the Tailgate or even a game......Do it!!!

If this is your favorite football team, and it is,you need to have the Redskins experience. There's nothing better than being surrounded by 90k plus in Skins attire and shouting at the top of their lungs. We Are One Family!!!

Excellent Blog,Dustin!

I think that you should go ahead and start stretching out those fingers, because I have a really good feeling about this one!

Great read! Glad everything worked out so well for you and your wife on your trek down here.

Portis is the fire engine. The more I watch him, the more I think he is a Jordan-esque type of athlete. Not in terms of dominance, but in terms of him doing things other good players can't do, and making it look easy. Plus he has a well-rounded game (Jordan played defense, Portis can block) and intangible qualities that lead to wins.

Come to think of it, Santana Moss did not get tackled in his 3 TD performance I believe. He dove into the end zone but was barely touched. The other two TDs ended in FEDEX leaps, and his other catch was a five yard out that took him out of bounds after a gain of about 6. Talk about trying to catch smoke!
