question about first and second year players
ok guys, I frequently join fantasy football leagues, and this year I am entering in a strange one that requires 6 (total) "youth players" at any position. A "Youth player" is any player that is a rookie this year, or just finished his rookie season last year.
These are the positions I need to fill.
QB
RB
WR
TE
K
DL
LB
DB
Out of those positions, I'm assuming there will be no 1st or 2nd year player as a kicker. So I need to knw who everyone thinks will be the best picks for "youth players". This is a keeper league, and I will be allowed to keep 63.5% of the players from year to year. HOWEVER, after the youth player finishes his second season, he will no longer be considered a youth player, and I will need to get another youth player to fill in the madatory 6 positions. (which makes rookies valuable since they can qualify for 2 years).
So, who do you guys think will do the best this year as far as "youth players" are concerned.
(there are no wrong answers)

I do not know how much the players cost, but I'll give it a try.
At QB, Chris Simms
At RB, Lee Suggs
At WR, Jabar Gaffney
At DL, Rashad Moore
At LB, Boss Bailey
At DB, Dennis Weathersby

Gotta admit, I know all those names, but not very familiar with who drafted them.
I think Boss is a steal.

Simms is a Buc
Gaffney a Texan
Moore a Seahawk
Weathersby a Bengal
I am not sure about the other two

the only two I knew were Gaffney and Simms.
Don't you think that Rogers (lions) will be better than Gaffney? Didn't he inherit the #1 spot?

In Seattle's D, I wouldn't be surprised. Randle and Moore. That sounds pretty good.
Rogers SHOULD be their Number 1 reciever. Too much pressure was on Az-Zahir Hakim, who is naturally a #3 reciever.

Did Boss Bailey go to Detroit too? For some reason that's what my mind is trying to remember.

Here are guys I would pick up who'll be starters this year:
QB: Harrington, Carr, Ramsey, Boller
RB: Onterrio Smith, Clinton Portis
WR: Ashley Lelie, Charles Rogers, Andre Johnson, Donte Stallworth.
TE: Shockey (it'd be nice, huh?), Daniel Graham, Jeremy Stevens, Dallas Clark
K: Jeff Reed
DL: Dwight Freeney, Julius Peppers
LB: Boss Bailey, Terrell Suggs
DB: Terrence Newman, Marcus Trufant, Mike Doss, Troy Polamalu
There are plenty of valuable bench-riders too, but these guys will score you points right now.

EXCELLENT! Those will help...thanks Joe.
(isn't terrell suggs as DE?)
I thought this was Lelie's third season. He's a sleeper in most drafts! If he's a second year, I'll have to scoup him up...thanks again Joe.

Baseball I have salary leagues.

Baltimore's using Suggs as an OLB in their 3-4 scheme.
Agh, forgot McMichael, Jolley, and Teyo Johnson at tight end. Royal could be picked up, too. Actually, I'm probably still missing a couple there, but oh well.
