Excellent stuff. The only thing that struck me as "out there" was Chicago picking Stanton. That's the first mock I have seen that has the Bear's going that direction. The pick is not without it's logic. The entire mock has solid reasoning behind the picks.

I agree fully that it is a reach, BUT:
-The bears have some chips to trade for offensive players(O-Gun, Thomas Jones, Muhammed, Tank Johnson).
-Stanton has all the tools, and his disappointing 06 performance could be because the whole MSU team fell apart. There are times he looks amazing, and times he looks shaky.
-I think if it comes down to Grossmann, orton, Griese, some scrub vet like David Carr or an unknown like Schaub, I think they would go with a rookie they can mold.
And thanks for the kind words.

As for the Boys i think we sign Deilman from SD and i would take Jarrett if he does fairly well at the combine.

I think if the Boys signed a guard, they would still go OT. If not, then DE.

i can see the skins dropping down if the offer is sweet enough.. especially if they feel that okoye is not much of a fall off from branch. right now scouts.com has okoye rated above branch ( 1 and 2...premium site)

I think Jarrett is too good of a talent to pass up there at 22. Most places have him ranked higher. So i think the boys would try to trade out if someone wants him or take the BPA. DE isnt that high on our list, we want to give WADE all the chances of working with the current DL.

i agree and if he runs great i am sure he goes higher. But most people have him in the 10-20 area and if he is there the boys should take him.

I agree on Jarrett, but Wade's defense in SD worked because of an amazing DL. The boys don't have that, and I have a feeling Wade is going to dump Canty, Spears and Ferguson sooner, rather than later. They need help at OL first, then WR(TO and Glenn are OLD), then DL imo.

I think he has to run a 4.52 to be in that range by late april. If he runs a 4.6 or a 4.57ish, then he could drop big time.

I know we have talked about the boys DL in the past you and I. I am not sure what sooner is in ur eyes. for me 1-2 years. They can atleast provide depth. Not many teams just have a turnover of their whole DL in 1 year. so for the skins point of view then, would you just dump, everyone except carter and golston??? That seems kinda harsh to do all at 1 time.
The boys dont have a history of drafting OL in the first. I agree with OL, WR, S. so picking a WR in the first isnt out of the question.

i do not think there is a "later" for wade.. i see it as being this year and next and then out the door.. so whatever changes he feels he has to make on defense happen this off season.
that means he signs edwards on the first or second day of free agency, i think...

Not at all, I wouldn't dump Golston, Griffin or Carter. They could use another player to go with them for sure(and Golston can be the rotation guy if they draft Branch). But the boys don't have the same level of quality DLmen that San Diego has. Thats not debatable imo. I think Phillips might bring in two new starters, and let them play it out to see who starts, but I would be surprised if Ferguson, Spears or Canty are there after 07. I think Canty and Ferguson might be gone during this offseason.

i just dont see how you can dump your starting 3-4 DL players. and find the replacements that are even better before the season starts.
