Aside from Blake, nobody recruited those kids, so he had the upper hand. He lucked out big time with the development of Dixon and Baxter. Baxter is the closest thing he's had to a center since Joe Smith.
He shouldn't have to work that hard. He's got half the talent of either Duke or UNC and still does pretty well. Can you imagine the dynasty that would be UMD basketball if we were able to keep even most of our kids in state? Hell, it's not even like there's a Maryland State he has to compete with. Maryland's recruiting is pathetic and that's a straight up sad fact.

I go to Maryland and I am 100% rooting for Georgetown to win it all. I really like their team and they were the first ones other than Maryland I wanted to win it all. But I definitely know I do not represent a majority of our fans. I understand a lot of them can be stupid about things like that. No hate here though. Go Hoyas.

I detest Dallass with a pure hatred that is reserved for none else. My family knows better than to even say the word "Dallass".
That being said, I also hate:
The Red Sox (their fans are whiny and now after finally winning something they act as high and mighty as they accuse yankee fans of being).
The Flyers.
The Rockets (something about them pisses me off. I mean plenty of teams have beat the Jazz in the post season but the Rockets get my hatred).
Anyone who drives for Rick Hendrick or has the last name of Busch.
As for other NFL teams, aside from the obvious NFC East teams, I hate the broncos and the bucs.

Haha. No terps fans on here, just some of the fans that may have wanted UNC to win over the Hoyas. But there are bad fans everywhere, not just specific to MD.

I respect Terp fans such as yourself...but its funny because the ones who wanted UNC to beat G'town question the motives of fans like yourself who rooted for G'town saying you can't like both and then will blatently accuse you of being a Georgetown fan and not a UMD fan...crazy huh lol? most of the crazy Terp fans live over at the scout.com message board.

Yet, you can't bring yourself to root for your hometown Terps, eh?

Good thread.
NFL: Giants and Jets to a lesser degree.
NBA: Knicks
MLB: Red Sawx
Other than the Yankees, I am mostly happy when the NY teams lose. New Yorkers are much more fun on talk radio when the teams lose. My favorite Mondays are the day after the Redskins win and Giants and Jets lose.

I think this thread proves fairly definitively that people hate teams that win who are not one of their teams.
