"Small slice" of White House Staff = 5 million missing emails

I don't know why you guys are getting so upset. It's not like we are talking about real scandles that matter to the american peoiple, like a 20 year old land deal or firings in the WH travel office. Those scandals deserved millions of dollars worth of independent investigations. Firing the lawyers responsible for administrering justice on the highest level and then purposefully trying to cover up the political motivations of those firings is really not that important in the long run.

Anyways there has to be a way that Clinton was to blame for this too.

Clinton uses email, proof that he hacked into the WH server and erased them al in a plot to discredit Bush.

Mentioning Clinton in an act of sarcasm is not remotely the same as metinoning Clinton 7 years after his preseidency and being serious. In other words, it's not the same thing.

congressional emails are all public record and just require a FOIA request to get ahold of them. the reason people don't go poking through them at random is because there are so many staffers and email accounts that unless you have smoke already, you're wasting your time trying to find one bad apple hidden in there. take the house for example...in just the 435 personal offices, the staff limit is 18 (district and DC staff) so including the members, there are 8,265 email accounts active at any given time and we're not even to the point of committee staff, leadership staff, and former staffers yet. Then we get into the Senate side which is about the same size. All those tens of thousands of staffers send and receive close to 100 emails a day so you can see why just randomly searching through them looking for a random illegal or unethical act is a waste of time and money.

True, you couldn't read all of them. but they should be sent through a "Screwing the People of America Machine" to make sure they're legit.

In his prepared testimony, Gonzales said that during the months that his senior staff was evaluating U.S. attorneys, including Lam, "I did not make the decisions about who should or should not be asked to resign."
