USA Today Article re: Campbell
Quote:
ASHBURN, Va. — Jason Campbell has spent so much of the last three months sharpening his footwork, rhythm and timing, it seems he's been prepping for an Emmitt Smith-like run on Dancing with the Stars rather than his first full season as the Washington Redskins' starting quarterback.
By speeding up his mechanics, Campbell has slowed down what he's seeing around him. Slow and grow.
From his decision to commit two vacation weeks this July — they'll be spent throwing to his receivers at wideout Santana Moss' Miami home — before training camp to his sharper reads and passes, Campbell has made impressive sacrifices and strides this offseason.
"He's been like my son," associate head coach Al Saunders says. "Every time I look over my shoulder, he is here."

Great Scoop PASG!!!
This was MORE than a feel good article. This is one of those moments where it is clear, someone has something, got better with it, and its to stay!

"He's there," Moss says of his quarterback. "His confidence level has risen. And his game, his arm, his decisions, his accuracy — all have risen with his confidence.

When he, Saunders or Gibbs says it, it has clout!

What a wonderful article! Thank you for posting it. I'm very pleased that Saunders and Campbell have been connected to the hip since March. The Doug Williams comments were priceless.
I so want this kid to succeed in a big way.

I think this is a good article I think the future of the Redskins looks bright since we have our franchise qb. Who has the potential to be our best QB since probably Theisman. Williams and Rypien were good for short periods but I think Campbell will be good for us for a very long time.

Its so hard not to put crazy expectations on Campbell, but its hard not too. The guy is willing to learn,he puts his time in the film and he wants to get better. We are dealing with a very dedicated football player. This is his year and hopefully he settles in an mans this football team for a long time.

That will surely be justice when he succeeds.

Without a doubt this is the closest we've come to solving the QB position for many years. I don't want to heap too many expectations on JC's shoulders, but I am very excited to see how far he's come this season. Whether or not the defense can rebound from its poor showing is the most critical to our success this season, but JC's development is the most critical towards the future of the franchise. Let's hope both go our way.
No matter what happens with him, he is easy to root for.

Do I sense a little positive vibe on this board? Hail yeah!
If JC is the real deal, we have many happy years ahead as fans. And Joe Gibbs will write another chapter in his legacy in Washington.
So much resides on this kids shoulder's. It's great to hear he's taking it to heart. He has the physical tools, seems to have the dedication, and now the confidence. This could be an exciting year.
Two months to camp...

Nice article - another one of those feel good things though - IMO.
It's a good thing that there are some positives being thrown JC way. The offensive has to be the strength of this team in 2007 and things seem to be falling into place ................BUT
Get through the preseason with out any major injuries.
Play good fundamental during that time.
THEN openning day - yeah I'll be alittle excited.
