Default Arrow Points; Redskins Snippets

One thing I think we all can’t forget about in terms of the dismal defensive performances last season was the sapping the defense took when Springs went down. Gregg Williams clearly coached differently, more conservatively, and blitzed less often, indicating his lack of enthusiasm for backups like Kenny Wright and Michael Rumph, but even more so, his lack of confidence in the safety position.

I like the Arrow Points feature.

GW must have hated last year. He either was or acted like he was completely handcuffed when Springs went down.

This is so true and the main reason why we should forget about the defensive performance of last season and look forward to a very promising defensive year to come.

A problem in part of his own making. Well his and Joe Gibbs by spending a gazillion dollars to bring a guy in Adam Arch that got attacked everytime he was on the field. Instead of spending that money on a guy that could cover or rush the passer or stop the run or at least do something.

Pretty good insight, with the new revamped secondary we should be able to create some turnovers this year. It was difficult to watch the secondary get burned repeatedly last year, but things should be very different this year.

I do not think that we should have thought that either should've been clairvoyant enough to know that Arch was going to play as horrible as he did. The guy came with pretty good credentials, maybe not all the credentials to spend what we did on him, but people do make mistakes.

I don't care how much our secondary has been improved (and right now that's ONLY on paper) ......... IF the D-Line doesn't step up and create pressure we are looking at another repeat performance of last season.
I'm trying to stay positive about it but I'm at the stage of "Talk Is Cheap " - SHOW ME!!!!!

I agree that until we see otherwise, we could have a bad D again. But I would rather GW run a bad D while being aggressive rather than watching that sorry excuse of a cover 2 they played last year.

honestly i can't see our defense being anything that resembles last year's poor showing. i think last year was an anomoly.

there were a number of different factors, but injuires played the most prominant role in why we played poorly. i also think over-confidence crept in and doused the edge we need.
