Wow, shocking news. Bill was a great person and an unbelievable football coach. One of the best ever. RIP, Bill Walsh, you will be greatly missed.

He gave birth to one of the greatest offenses the NFL has ever seen, but he coached with honey and not vinegar. I never heard someone ever mentioning a bad word about him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Walsh family. Great coach and from interviews i saw of him, he seems to be a 1st class person.

What a significant loss to the NFL family. A charasmatic man that put his talents to work and brought the city of San Francisco 3 Super Bowls and 6 division titles. A truly awesome coach.
RIP Bill, my thoughts to his family.

sadly his son, aged 46, also died of leukemia a number of years ago. that must have made bill's diagnosis that more bitter..
