We did 2 victory shots solely dedicated to Smoot and Springs last night. They play like they did yesterday in Seattle and we're going to Dallas.

The secondary has been playing well. I hope that doughty and torrence work hard this offseason, they are always around the ball. Springs has played well except for the 1st dallas game, smoot has been decent but was burned last night bad but made a great recovery on the underthrown ball. I love the intensity on defense these past couple of games. Its time to bury the cover 2 and let these guys swarm. GO SKINS !!!!!!

Reed Doughty will become a "true" Redskin. And Leigh Torrence is a HUGE upgrade on Ade Jimoh because he can actually cover. And he's always involved on teams.
It must be said, though, that the pressure we've been putting on opposing QBs has been helping our coverage. Chris Wilson's two sacks last night were brilliant!
Hope he's more and more involved in the future.

The PI call on him when he was covering Witten in the Flat was also terrible. I happened to be focused on him during that play and all he did was play that the way you should. Witten initiated the contact on that play.

Yes I have been thinking the same thing for a couple of weeks. Some here pegged him as "should not be on the football field". I thought that was pretty unfair for a 2nd year player getting his first real extended time in games. He hits very well and always is around the ball. Improve his pass defending and he is a darn good player. He has seemed to picked up his game on coverage.

Yep. They are really in sync right now and both of them seem fired up to ball. I think that with the exception of the first dallas game springs has had a pro bowl year and it is easily forgotten that springs has spent a great deal of the season away from the team in dallas with his dad and on airplanes.

I agree completely. We need to find a way to keep Springs on this team, he's by far the best player in the secondary.

i sure do hope they make it possible for springs to finish his career here
and torrence is fast and pretty physical

I don't have a problem with cushions if you jump routes. It's sitting in a deep cushion and then allowing a WR to run you off for a short route and 1st down. His 3rd down issues have seen much improvement.

i thought smoot has played well most of the year. i even liked his play against miami when a lot of people were down on him..and he is quite physical despite his slender build

we are going to need them to all come up big against the seahawks because they move the ball primarily through the air.. they have 4 solid receivers.
engram is having a career year playing the slot
hackett is fast and dangerous
branch is fast and dangerous
burleson is fast and dangerous
they go 4 wide a lot and hasselbeck is adept at finding them open

That's when creative blitzing and pass rush from the DL (yes, I said it) should be at it best

correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't Springs had a pick in each of our last 4 wins? He's going to play his old team too.

If Keino is giving Smooty props then you KNOW he definitely deserves it.
I agree 100%. Springs and Smoot look great out there. Its been a long time since we saw that type of energy come out of that position.

i would bet they consider switching daniels and carter again against seattle.. that puts daniels with his strength up against walter jones and allows carter not to have to deal with an all-world tackle
also, last time we faced them they had steve hutchinson next to jones.. he is no longer there.. which is another reason why the seahawk running game has deteriorated.
they will still have to pay attention to morris or he will hurt them again the way he did in 2005.. solid receiver out of the backfield and similar to ward in his running style

Our secondary has been outstanding. We're stacked at corner and we still have a very solid Carlos Rogers in the wings if he can comeback strong from his injury net season.
Springs has looked explosive he's reading things so well right now he hardly gives up catches and either bats it down or is right there when the ballis caught.
Smoot has been playing inspired, he's still vulnerable on the double moive but he's playing very well.
Lots of props need to go to Landry because he's building his own rep now and wr's are looking around for him on the field lots of curious drop balls in his area.
We appear locked in as a team right now.
