Well, the latest track has it crosssing right over us so we aren't out of the woods ourselves around here.

I'm a little worryed...............
My parents live on the Chesapeake Bay. Water front, outside of Chesapeake Beach, MD. Father is a charter boat captain. Him and I are going to get his boat ready for Isabel tomorrow (9/16).
Then, on Wednesday, we are going to board up the windows of the house, and then they (and the cat) are coming up to my house to ride the storm out. Of course, this all hinges on Isabel still hitting the Mid-Atlanic. I just hope it turns out to sea.
I guess if she hits us, I am going to have me a Hurricane party.
This is going to be something. Four adults and five cats in one house.
Thank God, I have a big house.

Good luck to everyone. Hopefully she'll turn and go elsewhere.

PLEASE, if you are threatened by this storm, move inland. Your house and belongings can be replaced, you can't. Good luck whichever way you choose.

Roberro, I thank you for your concern, but I do live inland, that is why my folks are coming here. I live on the edge of the mountains, in the western part of Maryland. I was trying to be funny saying I am having a hurricane party with everyone together.
As big as Isabel is, we will feel her this far inland, but no where close to what my folks would be getting at their house on the water.
So, we ride the storm out here.
I am leaving soon to go down to the Bay to help my dad get the boat and the house ready.
Wish me luck.

Yep, I live 15 minutes from skinsfan44, we'll be fine out here in the hills. Your parents are smart for coming up off the beach. Hope no ones allergic to those cats.

You see, you have a trade off with Hurricanes and living in the coastal states.....advance warning.......Here in the heartland, our nemesis.....Tornados.....strike without warning.....try game planning around that!

Here is a current picture of the hurricane. Looks like NC and VA are the current targets.

I already have 4 cats(well, the wife has 4 cats), so adding my folks cat makes 5.
Now, my sister lives in North Beach, and her and her boyfriend (along with her 2 cats) were going to his folks home in Manassas, VA, but his mom is allergic, so they are coming here instead.
So, now their will be 6 adults, and 7 cats in my house.
Of course, we have till Thursday to see what happens.

I live in Tarboro NC about an hour and a half east of Raleigh,NC.When Floyd came ,this area had the worst flood in 100 years. It was bad enough Clinton came downtown and gave a speech and FEMA sat up shop in town for quite some time.I hope its not that bad this time. Also when Floyd came we had just had a tropical depression pass through. It dropped tons of rain the week before saturating the ground and filling up the creeks. We havent had as much rain this go round prior to the storm approaching.
