Like I said on that thread, the biggest criticism of Upshaw's union is that its relationship to the commissioners office appears too cozy.

I'm glad the union is soft because I hate unions but the NFLPA is a joke. They need to take a look at baseball's leaders or even hire them for that matter.

Could be backtracking, but Stover recently said that his intention was simply to kickstart the process of succession and not some agenda to oust Upshaw. Regardless, this issue along with the CBA negotiations could make for some interesting times.
