Hurricane Isabel Thread
I'm generally the type of person who rolls their eyes at these overheated weather warnings in the media and I've been doing the same thing with Hurrican Isabel. The DC area Metro system [rail and buses] will be closed after 11.00 AM tomorrow morning. I have no idea if this will affect any NFL games or the hR tailgate [though I doubt it will], but if our plans change we will let you know.

My buddy in the Navy just called and said they have off tomorrow. I'm assuming the entire federal government is now off tomorrow since Metro is not accessible.
I'll bet Sunday's weather is beautiful. It usually is after a nasty storm.

Sucks when you work for a City municipality and are considered essential personel. Oh well, someone got to stay around and clear up the mess.
Forecast for Saturday AND Sunday is: MOSTLY Sunny with a high in the 80's.

This sucks...
Schools are closed....Fed Government is closed including military personnel...and the Metro is closed.
YET, my company is allowing employees with children and employees who use the Metro TO STAY HOME! Us non-kids and car owners have to get our a$$e$ up and go into work! What kind of crap is that?!?!?

Ah my friend - NICE to feel important - Someone got to sell whatever you sell. 76 hours from now it won't really have mattered!

All I can say is it was nice to drive 60 MPH this morning vs. the crawling 1 - 10 MPH that I normally deal with in the DC area.

Rugrats are getting out 2 hours early today, and they were off for "Fair Day" on Friday anyway.
(Yup, my area is still so AG. that they let the kids off for the fair, which by the way, packed up to leave town yesterday ~grin~)
After 10 snow days last year, I'm glad we won't be using any this week!

I'm glad we're using two snow days this week. With the kind of winter we're predicting, we'll use at least a dozen, and once we hit the magic number ten, state law changes and we don't have to make them up. Good times.
