Default Alright, Who's Getting It?

Anybody scooping up Madden 09 tomorrow? I'm skeptical (like every year) about the upgrades, but I'm picking it up (like every year) because it's the only game in town. So who else is picking it up? Maybe we could start an online league or something.

I'm definitely getting it. I was looking forward to playing all night but my local EB (where I already pre-purchased it) isn't doing the midnight launch anymore.

Jerks...

I am picking it up at midnight. 95% of the impressions I've read have been very positive. The couple of issues I've read about (computer running out of bounds too often, computer qb being too accurate) are both already scheduled to be fixed in a patch next month.

I am crazy excited. Got the day off tomorrow, so I reckon I'll be playing until the sun comes up tonight. (er...tomorrow...?)

Midnight, and I'm absolutely down for an online league. I'll try to get online launched tonight, and my new username is: eCartman47. If this game is as fluid as NCAA was, I'm going to blow a lot of downtime on this thing at school.

Ill get it on Friday only because there is no alternative. I hope its better than the demo because that was very unimpressive.

Ive just joined a 32 team league too.

I already pre-ordered it, but I can't do the midnight thing (have to get up early for work), so I'll pick it up after work tomorrow. Gotta get used to it though, I didn't play last years' that much because I wasn't feelin' it.

Definitely takes some getting used to. The thing where the difficulty adjusts to your playing is awesome, usually I either blow out a team by 40 or lose by like 20. First game I played against the Giants was a nail biter. Was down 17-10 with 1:04 left and drove all the way down and scored with 11 seconds left. Went for 2 on a ballsy flat to Cooley who stayed in bounds by a hair to go up 18-17. AI is smarter and does make a few ridiculous interceptions, and hit stick seems to cause a bunch of fumbles.

The camera will also take some getting used to. It seems like they took a more cinematic approach, making every play seem as dramatic as possible. Big hits are cool, as the whole screen shakes. This game is not for the epileptic.

Redskins are rated in the middle of the pack at 88. There is a roster update available where Taylor is a 98 and Daniels is out for the year. Durant Brooks and Frost are on the roster, with Frost starting (I changed that) and Brooks 2nd string, even though Brooks is rated 2 points higher than Frost.

The running game is still impossible. I pounded the ball with Portis, and the Giants D-line is either unstoppable, or Porits isn't very good. I'm going with the first one. Our Receivers, however are sick nasty. We have so much depth in this game that it's stupid not to use Moss as your return man.

Good soundtrack, with the exception of a few screamers. Linkin Park + Busta Rhymes is a good song. They do have the The Power and the Glory songs (yes, I got that CD for Christmas a few years ago) but you have to turn them on manually.

I'm definitely getting it but I've been a PS2 user for so long, I'm thinking it might be time to upgrade to Xbox360. Seems like everyone has a 360 so it would be silly for me to keep playing on the PS2 console. Back in the early Madden days, all my friends had ps2's so it was a no-brainer. Now, it seems EVERYONE (lol) has made the switch to 360. I always seem to be behind the gaming console curve lol.

I like it, but what is up with the running game? Is this gonna get easier with practice or is this aspect of the game basically worthless? Will there be a patch to fix this or something? I'm playing on All-Pro and both me and the CPU are averaging about two yards a carry.

Um yea running was my bread and butter. My passing was terrible but i knew i could run. Now with this game i cant do either. I get like 30 yards rushing a game. Its really pissing me off. To the point where i dont know if i like the game or not. The online fantasy draft is a big disapointment. It auto drafts and doesnt let you do the drafting. That let me down big time. So far im not happy. I liked 08 better.

I have ended up getting Madden the past two years (as a gift), but I haven't bought it.

I've rented the PS3 version and I'll check it out tonight. If it doesn't have the nice Franchise options like training camp and the like I'll go back down to the old Xbox version. Computer drafting for fantasy drafts would be a big let down.

No training camp stuff. The ONLINE fantasy draft is where it drafts for you. The regular is still normal.
