(on a side note, if he does that, i believe it puts him at 2 on the skins all time rushing list). for the last several years, CP has been the heart and soul of this offense...just wondering who others think challenges him for MVP at this point in the season.

IMO, Felix Jones would win it before Portis would. For whatever reason, once a player comes to DC, they lose all of their appeal to everyone outside of DC. No matter what type of numbers he puts up.
I'd love to see Portis win the POTY award. No one would deserve it more...

That's not unlikely. There is still a lot of football to be played though.

Clearly, Champ Bailey and Tatum Bell should be in the lead..........

Could be cause we haven't been the greatest or most exciting team to talk about until the offseason. Looks like we're finally turning the tide, and reversing those roles. If the team keeps this up, people will definitely take notice. Portis with a POTY would be fantastic.

Portis is playing on a whole new level this year. The yards are coming, the touchdowns are coming. It's awesome to see. Not many more deserving players out there.
And for the record, he got the most rushing yards in the league today! And that was against the best run defense in the NFL!
Do I think the NFL will recognize him as the league MVP? No. I don't. But there's a lot of football left to play. Regardless, we know how much he means to this team, and I'm pretty sure he knows, too. So screw 'em.

MVP talk for Portis ?

Washington is one of the best teams in the NFL thus far.
The Eagles choked away a lead and got manhandled at home.
Clinton Portis is the league MVP through five weeks.
|
He also went on to say Portis may have been the best player in the league
these first 5 weeks. Hopefully CP can keep it up!

Man... hopefully the team is not paying so much attention to all of this... I loved flying under the radar.
As for the MVP, I think it's still way too early, but hopefully Clinton can keep it up
